(1) Push the starter motor clutch (6) into the gearbox.
(2) Put the bearing support assembly (3) in position on the gearbox and align it with the location pin (5).
(3) Attach the bearing support assembly (3) on the gearbox with the bolts (1) and the washers (2).
(4) TORQUE the bolts (1) by steps in the sequence shown to between 51 and 46 lbf.in (0.58 and 0.52 m.daN )
.
(5) Install the starter motor (Ref. AMM TASK 49-42-51-400-007).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(3) Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
(6) Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(7) Make sure that the LIGHT control switch 11LJ is set to the on position.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 49-42-04-50-080 PACKING (4).
(4) Install the new packing (4) on the bearing support assembly (3).
(5) Apply Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) to the bolts (1) and to the location pin (5).
Subtask 49-42-52-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

CAUTION:
-YOU MUST NOT INCREASE THE TIGHTENING TORQUE MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM VALUE.
B. Installation of the Starter Motor Clutch - APPLY ALL TIGHTENING TORQUES WITH A TORQUE WRENCH OR A CALIBRATED SCREWDRIVER.
(1) Push the starter motor clutch (6) into the gearbox.
(2) Put the bearing support assembly (3) in position on the gearbox and align it with the location pin (5).
(3) Attach the bearing support assembly (3) on the gearbox with the bolts (1) and the washers (2).
(4) TORQUE the bolts (1) by steps in the sequence shown to between 51 and 46 lbf.in (0.58 and 0.52 m.daN )
. (5) Install the starter motor (Ref. AMM TASK 49-42-51-400-007).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 316AR 315AL (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 49-42-52-865-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3) Close the APU access doors 316AR 315AL (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
