A. Installation of the Duct Assy
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Remove the protective covers from the duct assy (4) and the ducts.
(6) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(7) Put the duct assy (4) in position.
(a) Make sure that the arrow should point up which shows the direction of the flow of air.
(9) TORQUE the nut of the clamps (3) to between 85 and 75 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.85 m.daN )
.
(10) Carefully apply anti-galling compound (Material No.V10-031) to the threads of the unions before you connect the sense lines (1) and (2).
(11) Connect the sense line (1) to the duct assy (4) and TORQUE the nut to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
.
(12) Connect the sense line (2) to the duct assy (4) and TORQUE the nut to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
.
Subtask 36-11-49-420-087-C (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Remove the protective covers from the duct assy (4) and the ducts.
(6) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(7) Put the duct assy (4) in position.
(a) Make sure that the arrow should point up which shows the direction of the flow of air.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE SCREWS OF THE ATTACHMENT CLAMPS ON THE OVERPRESSURE VALVE ARE IN THE CORRECT POSITION.
IF NOT, THE SCREWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL OF THE THRUST REVERSER COWL.
(8) Install the clamps (3) but do not tighten them fully.
