3. Job Set-up
Subtask 36-11-49-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On AIR COND panel 30VU:

Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on),
Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off),
Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system is in position.

(4) On ENG panel 115VU:

Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start engine 1(2) is in position.

(5) On the HP ground connector:

Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system is in position.

(6) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:

Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off,
Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2) is in position.

(7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position below the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-49-110-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Clean the Replacement Parts and their Interfaces
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:

For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).

(2) In the cockpit, on the SD bleed page:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).

(3) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade and clean the replacement parts and their interfaces.
(4) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and remove the dirty cleaning fluid from the parts while they are wet.

B. Visual Inspection of the Seals
(1) Examine the seals for signs of oxidation, carbon flakes and foreign materials on the face that touches the duct flanges.
(2) Examine the surface and the edges of the seals for dents, pitting, cracks, scratches and distortion.
(3) If you cannot remove the foreign materials from the seals or if you find damage or distortion, replace the seals.

C. Installation of the Y-Intersection Bleed Air Duct

Y-Intersection Bleed Air Duct ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Examine the replacement parts and their interfaces. Make sure that they have no damage.
(3) Transferable parts installation. Make sure that the parts are installed in the positions noted on removal (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-011).
(a) Install a new EIPC 36-21-49-80-170 SEAL (28) or EIPC 36-21-49-80-330 SEAL (28) to the union (30).
(b) Install the union (30) to the Y-intersection duct (27).
(c) TORQUE the union (30) to between 105 and 95 lbf.in (1.19 and 1.07 m.daN )

(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(4) Install the Y-intersection duct (27). Make sure that the parts are installed in the positions noted on removal (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-011).
(a) Install AIPC 36-11-52-80-030 SEAL (22), AIPC 36-11-49-80-100 SEAL (23) and AIPC 36-11-41-80-030 SEAL (26).
(b) Put the duct (27) on the engine, in the correct position for installation.
(c) Install the couplings (21), (24) and (25).
(d) Tighten the couplings sufficient to hold the duct in position.

D. Rig the cabin bleed air ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-820-010).
