A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
Subtask 36-11-49-010-088-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for a minimum of 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on),
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off),
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system is in position.
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start engine 1(2) is in position.
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system is in position.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off,
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2) is in position.
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

A. Clean the Replacement Parts and their Interfaces
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
V01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade and clean the replacement parts and their interfaces.
(4) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and remove the dirty cleaning fluid from the parts while they are wet.
Subtask 36-11-49-420-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with (4) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and remove the dirty cleaning fluid from the parts while they are wet.
B. Installation of the Upper Bleed-Air Duct
(1) Remove the applicable covers from the ducts and the pressure-regulating shut-off valve.
(2) Examine the replacement parts and their interfaces:
(a) Make sure that they have no damage.
(3) Install the upper duct (2) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the position of the components agree with the position that you recorded during the removal procedure.
(b) Install a new AIPC 36-11-52-80-030 SEAL (3).
(c) Put the duct (2) on the engine in its correct installation position.
(d) Install the couplings (1) and (4).
(e) Tighten the couplings sufficiently to hold the duct in position.
(4) Install the connecting rods (8) into the support lugs (5) as follows:
(a) Put the washers (9), the connecting rods (8) and the flanged bushes (6) into the support lugs (5) in their correct positions.
(b) Install the bolts (7) through the flanged bushes (6), connecting rods (8), washers (9) and support lugs (5).
(c) Install the nuts (10) on the bolts (7).
(d) Tighten the nuts sufficiently to hold the connecting rods in position.
Subtask 36-11-49-820-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 5. Close-up(1) Remove the applicable covers from the ducts and the pressure-regulating shut-off valve.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):
