A. Installation of the Fan-Air Valve Control-Thermostat
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(6) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(7) Install a new AIPC 36-11-06-06-050 PACKING (7) on the thermostat (3).
(8) Install the thermostat (3) on its support (6).
(9) Install the nut plate (4).
(10) Install the washers (5), the bolts (2) and (8).
(11) TORQUE the bolts (2) and (8) to between 1.6 and 1.32 m.daN (141.59 and 116.81 lbf.in )
.
(12) Do the steps that follow to connect the sense line (1):
(a) Make sure that the sense line (1) and the union (9) are serviceable.
(b) Remove the blanking plug from the union (9).
(c) Clean the threads of the union (9).
(e) Remove the blanking plug from the sense line (1).
(f) Connect the sense line (1) to the union (9).

- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

(a) Make sure that the sense line (1) and the union (9) are serviceable.
(b) Remove the blanking plug from the union (9).
(c) Clean the threads of the union (9).
CAUTION:
APPLY ONLY A THIN LAYER OF GREASE TO THE THREADS OF THE UNIONS, AND REMOVE THE UNWANTED GREASE TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE HOSE ASSEMBLY. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH GREASE, IT CAN CAUSE CLOGGING OF THE HOSE ASSEMBLY OR DAMAGE TO THE RELATED COMPONENTS.
(d) Apply a thin layer of Dry lubricant-General Assembly Molybdenum Disulfide & Silicone - (Material No.03QBC1) or Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) to the threads of the union (9).(e) Remove the blanking plug from the sense line (1).
(f) Connect the sense line (1) to the union (9).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE PNEUMATIC LINES ON UNIONS.
(13) TORQUE the sense line (1) to between 1.63 and 1.52 m.daN (12.02 and 11.21 lbf.ft )
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(14) Safety the sense line (1) with B. Leak Test
(1) Pressurization of the bleed system
(a) Pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-002) or with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-001).
5. Close-up(1) Pressurization of the bleed system
(a) Pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-002) or with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-860-001).
NOTE: If you pressurize the bleed system through the HP ground connector, the supplied pressure 30 psi (2.07 bar) must be stable.
(2) Make sure that there are no leaks at the sense line connection and at the junction between the fan air valve control thermostat and the duct (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-00-790-001). Subtask 36-11-43-865-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
