A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the special precautions when you work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) Make sure that the CIDS system is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
(4) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the emergency oxygen system.

C. Get Access
(1) On all emergency oxygen containers, do step (a) and/or step (b) as applicable:
(a) Pull out the test button with your fingers. Then turn 90 degrees to the TEST position.

(b) Push the left side of the test button on the door assembly.

NOTE: The over-center spring keeps the lever of the test button at 90 degrees to the door surface. The lever of the test button must stay in this position until you set it to the initial position.

D. Connection of the Ground Pressure Equipment

Installation and Removal of the Hose Adapter on the Altitude Switch

(1) Do not disconnect electrical connection from altitude pressure switch 16WR (1).
(2) Connect the VACUUM EQUIPMENT 0 TO 1 BAR (15 PSI) to the connector (3) of altitude pressure switch 16WR with the 98A35207599000 HOSE-ADAPTER,ALTITUDE SWITCH (2).

A. Functional Test of the Automatic Mask Release
(1) Do the test of the automatic mask release:

NOTE: The recorded announcements are usually recorded by the operator. You can hear the emergency announcement only if it is recorded.

ACTION	RESULT
1.At the vacuum source: Slowly decrease the pressure to 14800 ft. (4500 m).	On overhead panel 21VU: The SYS ON indicator light comes on at 14000 +250 ft. or -750 ft. (4267.12 +76.20 m or -228.60 m).
	In the cabin: The emergency announcement starts at 14000 +250 ft. or -750 ft. (4267.12 +76.20 m or -228.60 m) (when it is recorded). NOTE: At the end of the emergency announcement it stops automatically.
	On all the emergency oxygen containers: The doors open to the maximum permitted by the test buttons.
2.At the vacuum source: Slowly increase the pressure to 0 ft. (0 m).
3.On panel 50VU: Push the TMR RESET pushbutton switch.	On panel 50VU: The ON indicator light on the TMR RESET pushbutton switch comes on.
	On overhead panel 21VU: The SYS ON indicator light goes off.
Release the TMR RESET pushbutton switch.	On panel 50VU: The ON indicator light on the TMR RESET pushbutton switch goes off.

(1) Disconnect the VACUUM EQUIPMENT 0 TO 1 BAR (15 PSI) and the 98A35207599000 HOSE-ADAPTER,ALTITUDE SWITCH (2) from altitude pressure switch 16WR.

B. Close Access
(1) On all emergency oxygen containers:
(a) Close the doors of the emergency oxygen containers.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM. IF THE LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT ENGAGE EASILY, MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED.

1 Push the door of the emergency oxygen container to the closed position.
2 Push the door of the emergency oxygen container, at both sides of the test button, to lock the latch mechanism.
3 Make sure that the door is flush with the adjacent panels.
4 Do step (b) and/or step (c) as applicable.
(b) Turn the test buttons 90 degrees to normal position.

NOTE: Spring tension will retract the test buttons automatically when they are in the normal position.

(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close access door 812 and 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).

Subtask 35-23-00-862-051-A

C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU:
(a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
