   (1) Obey the special precautions when you work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
   (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (3) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the emergency oxygen system.
   (4) On all the emergency oxygen containers:
     (a) Push the test buttons to the test position.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

   (1) Do the test:

  • Open the circuit breakers 2WR and 3WR.

2.At the vacuum source:
In the cabin:
  • Slowly decrease the pressure to 14800 ft. (4500 m).
  • The doors of all oxygen containers open at 14000 +250 ft. or -750 ft. (4267.12 +76.20 m or -228.60 m) to the maximum permitted by the test buttons.

On the overhead panel 21VU:

  • The SYS ON indicator light comes on.
  • Slowly increase the pressure to 0 ft. (0 m).

3.On the maintenance panel 50VU:
On the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Push the TMR RESET pushbutton switch.
  • The ON indicator light in the TMR RESET pushbutton switch comes on while the pushbutton is pushed.

On the overhead panel 21VU:

  • The SYS ON indicator light goes off.
4.At the electronic rack 103VU:

  • Remove the SWITCH OFF relay 9WR.

  • Install a wire between pin A2 and A3 of the relay socket.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM. IF THE LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT ENGAGE EASILY, MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
5.In the cabin, at the first seat row, close the door of the emergency oxygen container:

  • Push the door of one emergency oxygen container to the closed position.
  • Push the door of the related emergency oxygen container, at both sides of the test button, to lock the latch mechanism.
  • Make sure that the door is flush with the adjacent panels.

6.At the vacuum source:
In the cabin, at the first seatrow:
  • Slowly decrease the pressure to 14800 ft. (4500 m) and hold it for not less than 30 sec.
  • The door of the related oxygen container opens at 14000 +250 ft. or -750 ft. (4267.12 +76.20 m or -228.60 m).

On the overhead panel 21VU:

  • The SYS ON indicator light comes on.

   (1) Disconnect the VACUUM EQUIPMENT 0 TO 1 BAR (15 PSI) and the 98A35207599000 HOSE-ADAPTER,ALTITUDE SWITCH from the altitude pressure switch 16WR.

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the switch guard is in position on the MASK MAN ON pushbutton switch.
   (2) If not installed, install a LABEL - ADHESIVE, INOP:
     (a) On the overhead panel, on the control panel 21VU, install the LABEL - ADHESIVE, INOP adjacent to the MASK MAN ON P/BSW 14WR.
   (3) On all emergency oxygen containers:
     (a) Close the doors of the emergency oxygen containers:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM. IF THE LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT ENGAGE EASILY, MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
       1 Push the door of the emergency oxygen containers to the closed position.
       2 Push the door of the emergency oxygen containers, at both sides of the test button, to lock the latch mechanism.
       3 Make sure that the doors are flush with the adjacent panels.
       4 Do step (b) and/or step (c) as applicable.
     (b) Turn the test buttons 90 degrees to normal position.
     (c) Push the test buttons back to the normal position and let them retract into their containers.
NOTE: Spring tension retracts the test buttons when they are in the normal position.
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (5) Close the access doors 812 and 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (6) Make an applicable entry in the logbook.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU:
     (a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
