A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE GASEOUS OXYGEN SYSTEM, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE APPLICABLE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Obey the special precautions when you do work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that there is a good airflow through the work area.

   (1) If the manual shutoff valve (1) of crew oxygen-storage cylinder 5750HM is closed, do as follows:
     (a) Open the manual shutoff valve (1) of the crew oxygen-storage cylinder:
CAUTION: TURN THE MANUAL SHUTOFF VALVES VERY SLOWLY ON ALL THE CREW OXYGEN-STORAGE CYLINDERS UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY OPEN. IF YOU TURN THE MANUAL SHUTOFF VALVES TOO QUICKLY, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
1 Very slowly open the manual shutoff valve (1) (3 to 4 turns) of crew oxygen-storage cylinder 5750HM.
2 Let the pressure become stable for approximately 90 seconds.
CAUTION: TURN THE HANDVALVES ON ALL OXYGEN BOTTLES UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY OPEN. IF THE HANDVALVES ARE NOT FULLY OPEN BEFORE FLIGHT, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE OXYGEN PRESSURE DATA ON THE ECAM DOOR/OXY PAGE WILL NOT BE CORRECT.
3 Fully open the manual shutoff valve (1) of crew oxygen-storage cylinder 5750HM.

A. Bleeding of the Crew Oxygen System
   (1) In the cockpit, on the overhead panel, on the OXYGEN section of panel 21VU:
     (a) Push the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend goes off).
   (2) On one of the oxygen-mask stowage boxes, push and hold the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET control lever. At the same time, push and hold the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob on the mask regulator:
     (a) Keep the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET control lever and the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob pushed for a minimum of three seconds.
     (b) Make sure that you can hear the sound of the oxygen flow.
     (c) Release the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob.
     (d) Release the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET control lever.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY KNOB IS NOT IN THE EMERGENCY POSITION. IF IT IS IN THE EMERGENCY POSITION, THERE CAN BE A LEAK OF OXYGEN.
