Subtask 32-33-15-860-050-A
A. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 110VU, make sure that the free fall control handle is folded into the center console.
(4) Make sure that the SHIM - WOODEN is (are) in position on each side of the free fall control handle to lock the handle in position.
(5) Make sure that the NLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(6) Make sure that the lateral avionics-compartment door 822 is open.
(7) Make sure that the cockpit floor panel 211FF is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-000-001).
(8) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(9) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below the lateral avionics-compartment door 822.
(10) Make sure that the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (9) is in position on the lower bellcrank (10).
(11) Make sure that the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (1) is in position to lock the quadrant (2).

(8) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(9) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below the lateral avionics-compartment door 822.
(10) Make sure that the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (9) is in position on the lower bellcrank (10).
(11) Make sure that the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (1) is in position to lock the quadrant (2).
B. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the junction components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry them with clean, dry compressed air.
(2) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the nuts and bolts and the splined shaft.
4. Procedure(1) Clean the junction components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry them with clean, dry compressed air.
(2) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the nuts and bolts and the splined shaft.
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).

A. Installation of the Free Fall Reduction Gearbox
(1) Loosen the lock nuts (25) and (28) and the stop screws (26) and (27).
(2) Put the toothed quadrant in the NORMAL position, on its stop on the casing.
(3) Install the screw (30), put the gearbox (3) in position and install the splined connection.
(5) Tighten the nuts (16) and safety them.
(6) Disconnect the cables (29) and (31) from the structure.
(7) Put the cable reels in their housings.
(8) Install the shim(s) (17) and (24).
(9) Put the cable guide (23) in position.
(10) Install the washer (22) and the nut (21).
(11) TORQUE the nut (21) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
and safety the nut (21) with the cotter pin (20).
(12) Install the washer (18) and the screw (19). Tighten the screw.
(13) Safety the screw (19) with the lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia. 0.8 mm (0.0314 in.).
Subtask 32-33-15-820-050-A (1) Loosen the lock nuts (25) and (28) and the stop screws (26) and (27).
(2) Put the toothed quadrant in the NORMAL position, on its stop on the casing.
(3) Install the screw (30), put the gearbox (3) in position and install the splined connection.
NOTE: With the gearbox (3) in the NORMAL position, turn the input shaft by one notch maximum to make a connection that has no stress.
(4) Install the bolts (4) and the nuts (16). (5) Tighten the nuts (16) and safety them.
(6) Disconnect the cables (29) and (31) from the structure.
(7) Put the cable reels in their housings.
(8) Install the shim(s) (17) and (24).
(9) Put the cable guide (23) in position.
(10) Install the washer (22) and the nut (21).
(11) TORQUE the nut (21) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
and safety the nut (21) with the cotter pin (20). (12) Install the washer (18) and the screw (19). Tighten the screw.
(13) Safety the screw (19) with the lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia. 0.8 mm (0.0314 in.).
B. Adjust the NLG free fall extension system
(1) Adjust the NLG free fall extension system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-002) but do not do a functional test.
(2) Make sure that the cable tension adjusters (11) are safetied with the pins (12).

C. Connect the rod (8)
(1) Make sure that the tool 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN is in position on the cable quadrant (2).
(2) Lock the rod (8) and install the screw (5).
(3) If it is necessary, do this procedure:
(a) Cut and remove the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (16) and release the washers (7).
(c) Adjust the rod (8) to lift the screw (5).
(d) TORQUE the nuts (6) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in )
and safety with the lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia. 0.8 mm (0.0314 in.).
(4) Install the washer (13) and the nut (14). Safety the nut with the cotter pin (15).
Subtask 32-33-15-080-050-A (1) Make sure that the tool 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN is in position on the cable quadrant (2).
(2) Lock the rod (8) and install the screw (5).
(3) If it is necessary, do this procedure:
(a) Cut and remove the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (16) and release the washers (7).
(c) Adjust the rod (8) to lift the screw (5).
(d) TORQUE the nuts (6) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in )
and safety with the lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia. 0.8 mm (0.0314 in.). (4) Install the washer (13) and the nut (14). Safety the nut with the cotter pin (15).
D. Remove the Rigging Pins
(1) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (9) from the lower bellcrank (10).
(2) Remove the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (1) from the quadrant (2).
(3) Remove the SHIM - WOODEN from the handle.
Subtask 32-33-15-720-050-A (1) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (9) from the lower bellcrank (10).
(2) Remove the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (1) from the quadrant (2).
(3) Remove the SHIM - WOODEN from the handle.
E. Functional Test
(1) Do the functional test of the free fall extension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-001).

Subtask 32-33-15-410-050-A
A. Close Access
(1) Close the lateral avionics-compartment door 822.
(2) Close the doors of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
(3) Install the cockpit floor panel 211FF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-400-001).

B. Removal of the Equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
