3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-31-00-941-101-A

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-002).
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) On panel 400VU:

Make sure that the landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position
Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

(4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) adjacent to the landing gear doors to tell persons not to go near the landing gear doors.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(2) Make sure the NLG doors are closed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-31-00-720-082-A

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.

A. Functional Check of the NLG Door Actuating-Cylinder

ACTION	RESULT
1.Move the NLG ground door-operating handle to the OPEN position (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).	The NLG door opens almost to the vertical position.
2.Make sure that the movement of the NLG door actuating-cylinder is smooth and continuous.
3.Move the NLG door with your hand through approximately 30 degrees and back to the fully open position.	The movement of the NLG door actuating-cylinder must be smooth and continuous. There must be hydraulic resistance only.
4.Measure the length of the visual chrome surface of the piston rod (DIM A) with the NLG door fully opened. NOTE: The DIM A is measured between the NLG-door actuating-cylinder body and the painted surface of the eye end.	The DIM A must be between 164 mm (6.46 in.) and 170 mm (6.69 in.).

(1) If there is a defect:

Replace the applicable NLG door actuating-cylinder before the next flight (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-16-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-16-400-001)
Record the applicable data in the defect report sheet and send to AIRBUS.

B. Operational Test
(1) Do an operational test of the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-710-002).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).

B. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
