A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (3) Make sure that the safety locks are in position on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) adjacent to the landing gear doors to tell persons not to go near the landing gear doors.

B. Flight Configuration Precautions
   (1) Do the flight configuration precautions with electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration - For all Landing Gear Doors
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable if you do the operational test of:
  • The MLG doors only
  • The NLG and MLG doors at the same time.
   (1) Use the TIE WRAP(S) to install the 98F32304000000 TARGET-FALSE on:
  • NLG extension proximity-sensors 24GA and 25GA
  • Left MLG extension proximity-sensors 21GA and 23GA
  • Right MLG extension proximity-sensors 20GA and 22GA.
   (2) To energize the aircraft electrical circuits, do one of the two steps that follow:
NOTE: You can energize the aircraft electrical circuits from the external power source or from the APU as necessary.
     (a) If you energize the electrical circuits from the external power source, do the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
     (b) If you energize the electrical circuits from the APU, do the steps that follow:
       1 Energize the electrical circuits from the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
       2 Set ADIRU 1 or 3 to ON.
       3 On panel 20VU, set the applicable IR1 or IR3 selector switch to the ATT position.
   (3) Make sure that:
  • The landing gear doors are closed
  • The ground control handle of the landing gear doors are in the CLOSED position
  • The landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (4) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration - For the NLG Doors only
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable if you do the operational test of the NLG doors only.
   (1) Open the MLG doors for access (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Use the TIE WRAP(S) to install the 98F32304000000 TARGET-FALSE on:
  • NLG extension proximity-sensors 24GA and 25GA
  • Left MLG extension proximity-sensors 21GA and 23GA
  • Right MLG extension proximity-sensors 20GA and 22GA.
   (3) To energize the aircraft electrical circuits, do one of the two steps that follow:
NOTE: You can energize the aircraft electrical circuits from the external power source or from the APU as necessary.
     (a) If you energize the electrical circuits from the external power source, do the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
     (b) If you energize the electrical circuits from the APU, do the steps that follow:
       1 Energize the electrical circuits from the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
       2 Set ADIRU 1 or 3 to ON.
       3 On panel 20VU, set the applicable IR1 or IR3 selector switch to the ATT position.
   (4) Make sure that:
  • The NLG doors are closed
  • The ground control handle of the NLG doors are in the CLOSED position
  • The landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position.

4. Procedure

A. Operational Test of the Landing Gear Doors
   (1) Do the test that follows:

RESULT
1.Monitor the landing gear doors and, on panel 400VU, set the landing-gear control lever to the UP position.
  • On the aircraft, the landing gear doors open correctly
  • On panel 402VU, the landing gear positions show UNLK (red).
2.Monitor the landing gear doors and, on panel 400VU, set the landing-gear control lever to the DOWN position.
  • On the aircraft, the landing gear doors close correctly
  • On the panel 402VU, the landing gear positions show green.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration - For all Landing Gear Doors
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable if you did the operational test of:
  • The MLG doors only
  • The NLG and MLG doors at the same time.
   (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) To de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits, do one of the two steps that follow:
     (a) If you energized the electrical circuits from the external power source, do the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
     (b) If you energized the electrical circuits from the APU, do the steps that follow:
       1 Set ADIRU 1 or 3 to OFF.
       2 On panel 20VU, set the applicable IR1 or IR3 selector switch to the OFF position.
       3 De-energize the electrical circuits supplied from the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (3) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S).
   (4) Remove the 98F32304000000 TARGET-FALSE from:
  • NLG extension proximity-sensors 24GA and 25GA
  • Left MLG extension proximity-sensors 21GA and 23GA
  • Right MLG extension proximity-sensors 20GA and 22GA.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration - For the NLG Doors only
NOTE: This procedure is only applicable if you did the operational test of the NLG doors only.
   (1) Close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
   (3) To de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits, do one of the two steps that follow:
     (a) If you energized the electrical circuits from the external power source, do the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
     (b) If you energized the electrical circuits from the APU, do the steps that follow:
       1 Set ADIRU 1 or 3 to OFF.
       2 On panel 20VU, set the applicable IR1 or IR3 selector switch to the OFF position.
       3 De-energize the electrical circuits supplied from the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (4) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S).
   (5) Remove the 98F32304000000 TARGET-FALSE from:
  • NLG extension proximity-sensors 24GA and 25GA
  • Left MLG extension proximity-sensors 21GA and 23GA
  • Right MLG extension proximity-sensors 20GA and 22GA.

C. Flight Configuration Precautions
   (1) Put the aircraft back to the ground configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).

D. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
