Subtask 32-22-16-860-051-A
Subtask 32-22-16-110-050-A
(2) Turn the nut (4) to make the door touch the rear stop.
(3) Turn the nut (4) 180 deg. to tighten the rod (1).
(4) Manually tighten the nut (2).
(5) Remove the nut (14), the washer (13), the bolt (10) and the bushes (11) and (12).
(6) Disconnect the rotating rod from the nose gear leg.
(7) Torque the nut (2) to between 3 and 2.5 m.daN (22.12 and 18.44 lbf.ft )
with the 98AMS172321000 ADAPTOR - WRENCH.
(8) To safety the nut (2) with the lockwasher (3), do the steps that follow:
(a) Use a PUNCH-NON METALLIC or an equivalent tool to bend the teeth of the lockwasher (3) which are aligned with the groove in the nut (2).
(b) Bend the teeth of the lockwasher (3), which are not used to safety the nut (2), into a safe position. As an alternative, you can remove the teeth of the lockwasher (3).
(9) Safety the nut (4) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(10) Manually close the aft door of the nose landing gear and connect the rotating rod to the nose gear leg.
(11) Install the bushes (11) and (12) and align the rigging holes.
(12) Install the bolt (10), the washer (13), and the nut (14).
(13) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 0.33 and 0.27 m.daN (29.20 and 23.89 lbf.in )

(14) Safety the nut (14) with a new AIPC 32-22-01-05-320 PIN (15) or AIPC 32-22-81-05-150 PIN (15).
(15) Remove the access platform(s).
(16) Extend the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-002).
(17) Lubricate the rotating rod and its connections (Ref. AMM TASK 12-22-32-640-002).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(3) Make sure that the doors of the nose landing gear are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(5) Make sure that the aircraft is lifted with jacks (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).
(6) Make sure that the NLG is retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-001).
4. Procedure(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(3) Make sure that the doors of the nose landing gear are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(5) Make sure that the aircraft is lifted with jacks (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).
(6) Make sure that the NLG is retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-001).
Subtask 32-22-16-110-050-A
A. Preparation for the Installation
(1) Clean the junction surfaces of the rotating rod with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
(2) Dry the surfaces with dry and filtered compressed air.
(3) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to the nuts and bolts and the shaft which connects the rotating shaft to the nose gear.
Subtask 32-22-16-420-052-A (1) Clean the junction surfaces of the rotating rod with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
(2) Dry the surfaces with dry and filtered compressed air.
(3) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to the nuts and bolts and the shaft which connects the rotating shaft to the nose gear.
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
B. Installation of the Universal Joint (1) on the Rod Assy (5)
(1) Install the universal joint (1) with the nut (2) and a new AIPC 52-82-31-02-830 LOCKWASHER (3) on the rod assy (5).
(2) In order to help the adjustment of the rod, turn the nut (4) to get approximately a dimension X = 209 mm (8.2284 in.).
(3) Tighten the nut (2), do not safety the nut (2) at this step.
Subtask 32-22-16-420-051-B (1) Install the universal joint (1) with the nut (2) and a new AIPC 52-82-31-02-830 LOCKWASHER (3) on the rod assy (5).
(2) In order to help the adjustment of the rod, turn the nut (4) to get approximately a dimension X = 209 mm (8.2284 in.).
(3) Tighten the nut (2), do not safety the nut (2) at this step.
C. Installation of the Rotating Rod
(1) Install the rotating rod on the aft door of the nose landing gear.

(4) Safety the nut (7) with the new AIPC 52-82-31-02-790 COTTER PIN (6).
(5) Manually close the aft door of the nose landing gear and connect the rotating rod to the nose gear leg.
(7) Install the bolt (10), the washer (13) and the nut (14). Do not tighten the nut (14) at this step.
Subtask 32-22-16-820-050-B (1) Install the rotating rod on the aft door of the nose landing gear.
NOTE: Point the grease fittings of the rotating rod to the nose gear leg.
(2) Install the bolt (9), the washer (8) and the nut (7). NOTE: If you install a new bolt (9), drill a hole of 2 mm (0.08 in.).
(3) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 0.33 and 0.27 m.daN (29.20 and 23.89 lbf.in )
. (4) Safety the nut (7) with the new AIPC 52-82-31-02-790 COTTER PIN (6).
(5) Manually close the aft door of the nose landing gear and connect the rotating rod to the nose gear leg.
NOTE: If necessary, loosen the nut (2) and turn the nut (4) to increase the length of the rotating rod.
(6) Install the bushes (11) and (12) and align the rigging holes. (7) Install the bolt (10), the washer (13) and the nut (14). Do not tighten the nut (14) at this step.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
D. Adjustment of the Rotating Rod NOTE: To do the adjustment, you must turn the nut (4).
(1) Loosen the nut (2). (2) Turn the nut (4) to make the door touch the rear stop.
(3) Turn the nut (4) 180 deg. to tighten the rod (1).
(4) Manually tighten the nut (2).
(5) Remove the nut (14), the washer (13), the bolt (10) and the bushes (11) and (12).
(6) Disconnect the rotating rod from the nose gear leg.
(7) Torque the nut (2) to between 3 and 2.5 m.daN (22.12 and 18.44 lbf.ft )
with the 98AMS172321000 ADAPTOR - WRENCH. (8) To safety the nut (2) with the lockwasher (3), do the steps that follow:

(b) Bend the teeth of the lockwasher (3), which are not used to safety the nut (2), into a safe position. As an alternative, you can remove the teeth of the lockwasher (3).

(11) Install the bushes (11) and (12) and align the rigging holes.
(12) Install the bolt (10), the washer (13), and the nut (14).
(13) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 0.33 and 0.27 m.daN (29.20 and 23.89 lbf.in )
. (14) Safety the nut (14) with a new AIPC 32-22-01-05-320 PIN (15) or AIPC 32-22-81-05-150 PIN (15).
(15) Remove the access platform(s).
(16) Extend the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-002).
(17) Lubricate the rotating rod and its connections (Ref. AMM TASK 12-22-32-640-002).
F. Functional Test
(1) Do the functional Test of the NLG Normal extension and retraction (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-003).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Lower the aircraft on its wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-586-001).
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
