3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-12-00-941-054-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) below the applicable zone 730(740).
   (2) Open the applicable main gear door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (3) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is on the applicable main gear door actuator.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-12-00-820-050-A
A. Adjustment of the MLG Door Ground-Opening System
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
   (1) Preparation for adjustment:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
     (b) Remove the pin (2).
     (c) Put the handle (1) to the CLOSED position and install the pin (2).
     (d) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
     (e) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
     (f) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
     (g) If the bypass valve (21) was not installed:
       1 Remove and discard the cotter pin (7).
       2 Remove the nut (8), washer (6), bush (9) and bolt (10).
       3 Remove the bushes (24) and (25).
NOTE: If you installed the bypass-valve (21), the eye-end (4) and rod (15) is disconnected.
     (h) Install the 98DNSA20208040 RIGGING PIN on the bypass lever (26).
   (2) Adjustment procedure:
     (a) On the cable (3):
       1 Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (5).
       2 Loosen the nut (5).
       3 Adjust the eye-end (4) until it aligns with the hole in the lever (11).
       4 Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- High strength - (Material No.05BAJ1) on the bushes (24) and (25).
       5 Install the bushes (24) and (25) in the lever (11).
       6 Make sure that the eye-end (4) is in safety and you can see the threads in the witness-hole of the eye-end (4).
       7 Hold the eye-end (4) and install the nut (5).
       8 TORQUE the nut (5) to between 0.33 and 0.27 m.daN (29.20 and 23.89 lbf.in ) T.
       9 Safety the nut (5) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
       10 Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.
06AAA1) on the bushes (24) and (25).
       11 Apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) on the bushes (24) and (25).
       12 Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolt (10) and the bush (9).
       13 Put the eye-end (4) in position and install the bush (9), bolt (10), washer (6) and nut (8).
       14 Safety the nut (8) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-50-220 COTTER PIN (7) or the new AIPC 32-31-83-46-010 COTTER PIN (7).
       15 Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.
12ACB1) to the bolt (10), washer (6), nut (8) and cotter pin (7).
     (b) On the rod (15):
       1 Remove and discard the cotter pins (12) and (31).
       2 Remove the nuts (13) and (30), washers (14) and (29), bushes (18) and (28), bolts (19) and (27) and rod (15).
       3 Remove the bushes (22) and (23).
       4 Install the 98DNSA20208040 RIGGING PIN in the uplock (20).
       5 Remove and discard the lockwire from the locknuts (16).
       6 Loosen the locknuts (16).
       7 Adjust the eye-ends (17) until they align with their related attachment holes in the uplock (20) and the bypass lever (26).
       8 Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- High strength - (Material No.05BAJ1) on the bushes (22) and (23).
       9 Install the bushes (22) and (23) in their related attachment holes in the uplock (20) and the bypass lever (26).
       10 Make sure that the eye-ends (17) are in safety and you can see the threads in the witness-holes of the eye-ends (17).
       11 Hold the eye-ends (17) and tighten the locknuts (16).
       12 Safety the locknuts (16) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
       13 Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) on the bushes (22) and (23).
       14 Apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) on the bushes (22) and (23).
       15 Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (19) and (27), bushes (18) and (28), washer (29), nut (30) and cotter pin (31).
       16 Put the rod (15) in position and install the bushes (18) and (28), bolts (19) and (27), washers (14) and (29) and nuts (13) and (30).
       17 Safety the nuts (13) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-50-270 COTTER PIN (12) or the new AIPC 32-31-83-46-010 COTTER PIN (12).
       18 Safety the nuts (30) with the new
AIPC 32-31-03-50-270 COTTER PIN (31) or the new AIPC 32-31-83-46-010 COTTER PIN (31).
       19 Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.
12ACB1) to the bolts (19) and (27), washers (14) and (29), nuts (13) and (30) and cotter pins (12) and (31).
       20 Remove the 98DNSA20208040 RIGGING PIN from the bypass lever (26) and the uplock (20).
       21 Remove the pin (2).
       22 Put the handle (1) to the OPEN position and install the pin (2).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).

C. Close Access
   (1) Remove the pin (2). Move the handle (1) through its travel range and make sure that:
  • the system can move freely
  • the system linkage does not touch other parts of the structure.
   (2) Put the handle (1) to the OPEN position and install the pin (2).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the applicable main gear door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (5) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).

D. Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the MLG doors ground-opening system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-710-002).

A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
