A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(2) On panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-11-19-860-064-A (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(2) On panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems have been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
Subtask 32-11-19-869-062-A (1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems have been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
C. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
Subtask 32-11-19-865-056-A (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

E. Installation of the Spring Expander
(1) Install the 460005832 SPRING EXPANDER-MLG SIDE STAY (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-481-001).
4. Procedure(1) Install the 460005832 SPRING EXPANDER-MLG SIDE STAY (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-481-001).
Subtask 32-11-19-020-054-A
A. Disconnection of the MLG Lock Springs
(1) Remove the cotter pin (13), the nut (12) and the washer (11). Discard the nut (12) and the cotter pin (13).
(2) Adjust the 460005832 SPRING EXPANDER-MLG SIDE STAY by use of the driving nut (7), until the pin (2) is loose.
(3) Remove these items together:
(5) Remove the 460005832 SPRING EXPANDER-MLG SIDE STAY (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-081-001).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Remove the cotter pin (13), the nut (12) and the washer (11). Discard the nut (12) and the cotter pin (13).
(2) Adjust the 460005832 SPRING EXPANDER-MLG SIDE STAY by use of the driving nut (7), until the pin (2) is loose.
(3) Remove these items together:
- the pin (2)
- the washer (10)
- the spacer (3)
- the washer (4).
(5) Remove the 460005832 SPRING EXPANDER-MLG SIDE STAY (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-081-001).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
