A. Removal of the Brace Tool from the Lockstay Actuator
WARNING: DURING THIS TEST, MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK-STAY STAYS IN THE LOCKED OVER-CENTER POSITION. DO NOT ADJUST THE SPRING EXPANSION TOOL OR THE LOCK-STAY BRACE TOOL BECAUSE THIS CAN MOVE THE LOCK-STAY TO THE UNLOCKED OVER-CENTER POSITION. IF THE LOCK-STAY IS IN THE UNLOCKED OVER-CENTER POSITION, THE LEG CAN MOVE AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Remove the lockstay actuator from the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (13) as follows:
     (a) Release and open the clamps (20) on the support arms (18) and (21).
     (b) Remove the actuating cylinder (7) (weight 3.3 kg (7.2753 lb)) from the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (13). Temporarily attach the actuating cylinder to the adjacent structure.
     (c) Do not let the cylinder weight be held by the hoses only. This can cause damage to the hoses.
   (2) Remove the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (13) as follows:
     (a) Use the 460006437 TOOL-HOLDING to hold the pin (8) and remove the bolt (10).
     (b) Remove and discard the tab washer (11).
     (c) Remove the sleeve (12).
     (d) Remove and discard cotter pin (5).
     (e) Remove the nut (4) and the washer (3).
     (f) Remove the washer (3).
     (g) Remove the pin (2), the washer (1) and the washers (6).
     (h) If the pin (2) cannot be removed easily, loosen the lock-nuts (15). Adjust the length of the lockstay brace tool with the adjuster-nut (16) until the pin (2) can be removed.
     (i) Remove the pin (8) and the washers (9).
     (j) Remove the DRT68864 LOCK, STAY BRACE TOOL (13).
   (3) Install the MLG lockstay actuating cylinder (7) as follows:
     (a) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
     (b) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (d) Lubricate the pins (2) and (8) and the attachment lugs of the sidestay and the lockstay with Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-Landing Gear Wheel Bearing Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GCB1) .

NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).

     (e) Hold the actuating cylinder (7) in the correct position at the lockstay.

     (j) Install the pin (8).
     (k) Install the washer (3) and the nut (4).
     (l) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 13.5 and 11 m.N (119.47 and 97.35 lbf.in ) T.
     (m) Safety the nut (4) with the new
AIPC 32-11-17-01-030 COTTER PIN (5).
     (n) Install the sleeve (12), the new
AIPC 32-11-18-02-050 TAB WASHER (11) and the bolt (10).
     (o) Use the
460006437 TOOL-HOLDING to hold the pin (8) and TORQUE the bolt (10) to between 20 and 17 m.N (14.75 and 12.54 lbf.ft ) T.
     (p) Bend the tabs of the tab washer (11) to safety the bolt (10).
     (q) Do the dimensional check on the lockstay actuator and the lockstay center-joint (
