To make sure that the DMC, ND, PFD, the upper and the lower ECAM Display Units (DU) operate correctly.

3. Job Set-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU, set all the selector switches to NORM.
   (4) Do the ADIRS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-002).

A. Test
NOTE: This test is for the CAPT side. For the F/O side, use the indications between parentheses.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU, set the EIS DMC selector switch to CAPT/3 (F/O/3).
  • make sure that there is no change on the PFD, the ND on the CAPT (F/O) side and the upper (lower) ECAM DU.
2.Set the EIS DMC selector switch to NORM.

A. Test
NOTE: This test is for the CAPT side. For the F/O side, use the indications between parentheses.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the panel 301VU (500VU):
  • set the PFD potentiometer to the OFF position then to the center position
  • After some seconds the PFD comes into view:
    SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS)
2.On the panel 301VU (500VU):
  • set the ND potentiometer to the OFF position then to the center position
- After some seconds the ND comes into view:
SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS)
3.On the ECAM control panel:
  • set the UPPER DISPLAY potentiometer to the OFF position then to the center position
- After some seconds the EWD comes into view:
SELF TEST IN PROGRESS (MAX 40 SECONDS)
4.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Set the LOWER DISPLAY potentiometer to the OFF position then to the center position
- After some seconds the SD comes into view.

5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (2) Do the ADIRS Stop Procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-005).
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
