3. Job Set-up
Subtask 31-36-00-860-145-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is in Ground configuration (Landing Gear compressed and all Engines stopped).
   (2) Make sure that the Smart PCMCIA Card (SPC) is installed in FDIMU (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-400-805).
   (3) Make sure that the left forward passenger door is in open position (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (4) Do the flight configuration precautions with electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
   (5) On the overhead panel 50VU, push the ENG FADEC GND PWR 1 pushbutton switch (the white ON indicator light comes on).
   (6) On the overhead panel 50VU, push the ENG FADEC GND PWR 2 pushbutton switch (the white ON indicator light comes on).
   (7) On the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in NORM position.
   (8) On the ENG panel 115VU, set the ENG/MASTER 2 switch 2KC to OFF position.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE below the access door 824.
   (2) Open the access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
   (3) For location of the FDIMU, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 31-36-00-00).

A. Do a WEFA software status:

  • Push the line the line key adjacent to MCDU MENU indication.
  • The MCDU MENU page comes into view.
  • Select:
    <AIDS
    <PCMCIA
    <WEFA
    <MAINTENANCE
  • AIDS WEFA STATUS page comes into view.
Check the WEFA STATUS is ENABLED*
  • If the WEFA STATUS is DISABLED*, select the WEFA STATUS adjacent line.
  • The WEFA STATUS will change to ENABLED*.
NOTE: The access to the ENABLED/DISABLED line is protected by a password. The standard password is SFIMP. The standard password is no longer applicable if it is changed. Protection becomes active again once DMU has logged off from the MCDU.

B. Do a check of the WEFA hardware status:

Make sure that the DMU FAIL LED and the FDIU FAIL LED are OFF.
Make sure that the ON/OFF switch is in the ON position.
  • Check the LED of the SPC which is installed in the FDIMU (10TV).
The SPC Status LED (top LED) has to be GREEN or ORANGE.
NOTE: The SPC Transfer LED (antenna symbol/bottom LED) is OFF at the start (approximately 2 minutes).
The SPC Transfer LED is only "ORANGE" when the network is found (approximately 10 seconds).
The SPC Transfer LED is "GREEN" when the network is connected.

C. Do a check of the RF-Interlock

  • Check on the FDIMU (10TV) front panel the SPC Status LED (top LED).
  • The SPC Status LED (top LED) is GREEN.
Close and lock the Left Forward Passenger Door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
  • Check on the FDIMU (10TV) front panel the SPC Status LED (top LED).
  • The SPC Status LED (top LED) is ORANGE.
Unlock and open the Left Forward Passenger Door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
  • Check on the FDIMU (10TV) front panel the SPC Status LED (top LED).
  • The SPC Status LED (top LED) is GREEN.
On the ENG panel 115VU:

  • Make sure that the ENG/MODE switch is in the NORM position.
  • Set the ENG/MASTER 2 switch 2KC to ON.
In the electronic bay (80VU):

  • Check on the FDIMU (10TV) front panel the SPC Status LED (top LED).
  • The SPC Status LED (top LED) is ORANGE.
On the ENG panel 115VU:

  • Set the ENG/MASTER 2 switch 2KC to OFF.
In the electronic bay (80VU):

Check on the FDIMU (10TV) front panel the SPC Status LED (top LED).
The SPC Status LED (top LED) is GREEN.

5. Close-up
Subtask 31-36-00-860-146-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the ground configuration after flight configuration with electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).
   (2) On the overhead panel 50VU, push the ENG FADEC GND PWR 1 pushbutton switch (the white ON indicator light goes off).
   (3) On the overhead panel 50VU, push the ENG FADEC GND PWR 2 pushbutton switch (the white ON indicator light goes off).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (5) Close the access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).
