D. Installation of the Engine Air Intake Anti-ice Valve
(3) Tighten the coupling nut of the anti-ice couplings (3) and (5) sufficiently to keep the anti-ice valve (4) in position.
(4) Rotate the anti-ice valve (4) to get the minimum clearances that follow:
(b) 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) between the anti-ice valve (4) and the fire shield (8).
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Connect the electrical connector 4000DN-A (1) to the anti-ice valve (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).
Subtask 30-21-51-790-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE COUPLINGS ARE TURNED SO THAT THE CLAMPS DO NOT TOUCH ADJACENT COMPONENTS/FAN COWL DOORS AND FAN-COWL DOOR HINGES. IF THE COUPLINGS ARE NOT TURNED CORRECTLY, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Put the anti-ice valve (4) and the two seals (2) and (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010) in the correct position for installation (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-51-000-010). NOTE: Make sure that the arrow on the valve points is in the correct direction.
(2) Install the anti-ice couplings (3) and (5). (3) Tighten the coupling nut of the anti-ice couplings (3) and (5) sufficiently to keep the anti-ice valve (4) in position.
(4) Rotate the anti-ice valve (4) to get the minimum clearances that follow:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE CORRECT CLEARANCES. IF YOU DO NOT GET THE CORRECT CLEARANCES, DAMAGE TO THE FAN COWL DOOR AND AIR STARTER DUCT CAN OCCUR.
(a) 0.40 in. (10.16 mm) between the anti-ice valve (4) and the air starter duct (7). (b) 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) between the anti-ice valve (4) and the fire shield (8).
NOTE: Make sure that there is a minimum clearance of 0.39 in. (9.91 mm) between the valve connector and the air starter duct.
(5) TORQUE the coupling nut of the anti-ice couplings (3) and (5) to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
