A. Preparation for the Leak Test
(1) Remove the anti-ice ducts insulation (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-806).
(2) There are two procedures to find the location of an air leak, at a pneumatic joint. You can applyV06-032 developer, dry around the couplings or you can install FOIL - ALUMINUM around the coupling locations.
Method 1.
Apply dry developer around the couplings on the inlet cowl anti-ice supply ducts.
Method 2.
Use the steps that follow to apply foil, aluminum to the inlet cowl anti-ice supply ducts.
(a) Wind the foil wrap around the coupling one time only.
(b) Twist the seam and two ends of the foil wrap tight.
(c) Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the coupling but do not rip the wrap.
(d) Attach the foil wrap at the two sides of the coupling with lockwire (Material No.V02-147) .
