Subtask 30-21-49-941-098-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 30-21-49-010-135-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the engine.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 30-21-49-010-136-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). D. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

Subtask 30-21-49-420-089-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Anti-Ice Duct Insulation
(1) Install the insulation around ducts No.3 and No.4.
(a) Install insulations (4), (5), (6) and (7) around duct No.3.
(b) Install insulations (8), (9), (10), (11), (12) and (13) around duct No.4.
(c) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
1 Install the lockwire between the attachment lugs.
(2) Install the insulation around the gimbals.
(a) Install insulations (14), (15), (16) and (17) around the gimbals.
(b) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
1 Install the lockwire directly between the attachment lugs.
2 Wirelock the gimbal insulation to the adjacent duct insulation.
(d) Make sure that the lockwire is laid flat on the insulations.
(3) Install the insulation around the couplings.
(a) Install insulations (18), (19), (20) and (21) to the couplings.
(b) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
1 Wirelock the coupling insulation to the adjacent duct insulation.
(4) Install the insulation around the anti-ice valve and duct No.5.
(a) Put the insulation (1) in a position that prevents its movement around the anti-ice valve.
(b) Install the insulations (2) and (3) around duct No. 5.
(c) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
1 Install the lockwire between the attachment lugs.
5. Close-up(1) Install the insulation around ducts No.3 and No.4.
(a) Install insulations (4), (5), (6) and (7) around duct No.3.
(b) Install insulations (8), (9), (10), (11), (12) and (13) around duct No.4.
(c) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(d) Make sure that the lockwire is laid flat on the insulations. 1 Install the lockwire between the attachment lugs.
(2) Install the insulation around the gimbals.
(a) Install insulations (14), (15), (16) and (17) around the gimbals.
(b) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(c) Make sure that the lockwire is laid flat on the insulations. 1 Install the lockwire directly between the attachment lugs.
2 Wirelock the gimbal insulation to the adjacent duct insulation.
(d) Make sure that the lockwire is laid flat on the insulations.
(3) Install the insulation around the couplings.
(a) Install insulations (18), (19), (20) and (21) to the couplings.
(b) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(c) Make sure that the lockwire is laid flat on the insulations. 1 Wirelock the coupling insulation to the adjacent duct insulation.
(4) Install the insulation around the anti-ice valve and duct No.5.
(a) Put the insulation (1) in a position that prevents its movement around the anti-ice valve.
(b) Install the insulations (2) and (3) around duct No. 5.
(c) Safety the insulation with the lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(d) Make sure that the lockwire is laid flat on the insulations. 1 Install the lockwire between the attachment lugs.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):
