A. Deactivation of the Reservoir Quantity Indication of the Yellow Hydraulic System
(1) Release the transmitter cable from the two P-clips nearest to the reservoir end of the cable.
(2) Put the P-clips back in position on their brackets after you have released the cable.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector 3000GQ-A from the quantity transmitter of the reservoir.
(4) Install a CAP - PROTECTION in the connector and the receptacle.
(5) Put the connector through the hole in the top of the rear wall (FR42) of the Yellow hydraulic compartment.
(6) Use a TIE WRAP(S) to attach the connector and the cable to the structure in the main gear compartment.
Subtask 29-31-00-040-052-A (1) Release the transmitter cable from the two P-clips nearest to the reservoir end of the cable.
NOTE: Attach the cable to the structure so that the disconnected end of the connector points down. Oil or other liquids can not then enter the connector.
B. Electrical Failure of the Quantity Indicator
(1) Examine the mechanical indicator on the reservoir to check the quantity of the hydraulic fluid. Do this before each flight.
(2) Do a check of the LO LVL ECAM warning. Do this check only before the first flight of the aircraft under this MMEL item.
(a) Make sure that the aircraft configuration is:
2 Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
3 Drain the Yellow reservoir until the low level warning comes on (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-680-002). Keep the air pressure in the reservoir at not less than 22 psig (1.5 bar relative) while you drain the fluid.
4 Put the fluid into the Yellow reservoir to fill it to its correct fill level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(3) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Make an entry in the logbook.
Subtask 29-31-00-040-056-A (1) Examine the mechanical indicator on the reservoir to check the quantity of the hydraulic fluid. Do this before each flight.
(2) Do a check of the LO LVL ECAM warning. Do this check only before the first flight of the aircraft under this MMEL item.
(a) Make sure that the aircraft configuration is:
- The thrust reverser for the right engine OFF (closed)
- The speedbrakes and the spoilers retracted
- Yellow power accumulator empty of fluid and filled with nitrogen to the correct pressure
- Forward and aft cargo-compartment doors closed.
2 Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).

4 Put the fluid into the Yellow reservoir to fill it to its correct fill level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(3) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

The quantity of fluid which it is necessary to add is:
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(7) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(8) Make an entry in the logbook.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the aircraft configuration is:
- The thrust reverser for the right engine is off (closed)
- The speedbrakes and the spoilers retracted
