HYD RAT FAULT ALERT
NOTE: Use this procedure together with the Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL).
If the fault indication is because of a defect in the indication system it is permitted to dispatch the aircraft. It is also permitted to dispatch the aircraft if the defect is in the RAT ground test system (if the system is known to be in the "flight" condition).
It is not permitted to dispatch the aircraft if the fault indication is because of a defect which could prevent operation of the RAT.
NOTE: If any part of the system is deactivated, after each flight, the deactivated component must be reactivated and this procedure done again. This is to find any faults which were not shown because of the deactivation.

3. Job Set-up

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel on the center pedestal, press the HYD pushbutton switch (P/BSW). Make sure that the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU) shows the HYD page.
   (4) Make sure that the ECAM upper DU shows the RAT FAULT indication.

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the access panels 195BB and 197EB.

Subtask 29-30-00-040-050-B
A. Integrity Check of the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) after RAT FAULT Warning
   (1) Do a visual check of the left belly fairing to make sure that the RAT is not extended.
   (2) If the RAT is extended:
     (a) Do the applicable troubleshooting procedures TSM 29-22-00-810-801.
     (b) If the fault has been corrected, go to Para. 5.A.
   (3) If the RAT is not extended, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003).
     (b) Extend the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-005). If the RAT STOWED indicator light comes on, ignore it.
     (c) Make sure that the RAT stays in the deployed position.
     (d) Retract the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006). If the RAT STOWED indicator light goes off, ignore it.
     (e) Make sure that the RAT stays in the stowed position. If the RAT FAULT indicator light comes on, ignore it. This RAT FAULT warning is false.
     (f) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
     (g) Make an entry in the logbook.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access panels 195BB and 197EB.
Subtask 29-30-00-860-051-A
B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
