WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-49-860-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.
   (5) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the engine 1(2).
   (6) Make sure that the fan-cowl door 447AL is open.
Subtask 29-13-49-941-078-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the hydraulic tube connection to the switch (25) to collect the remaining fluid.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-420-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Hydraulic Pressure-Hose

PRE SB RA 32029-10

   (1) Remove the blanking covers from the lower hose (55) coupling and the hydraulic pump union.
   (2) Connect the hose (55) to the hydraulic pump.
   (3) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 83.4 and 75 lbf.ft (11.31 and 10.17 m.daN ) T.
   (4) Remove the blanking covers from the upper hose (55) coupling and fluid disconnect panel.
   (5) Connect the hose (55) to the fluid disconnect panel.
   (6) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 78.7 and 71.25 lbf.ft (10.67 and 9.66 m.daN )
T.
   (7) Install the hose (55) on the upper and lower mid support-brackets.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE CLAMP. MAKE SURE THAT THE TWO HALF-CUSHIONS ARE IN POSITION.
   (8) Install the clamps (65), the screws (35), the washers (50) and the nuts (45). Do not torque the screws at this time.
   (9) Install the hose (55) on the upper support-bracket.
   (10) Install the clamp (65), the screw (35), the washer (50) and the nut (45). Do not torque the screw at this time.
   (11) Install the hose (55) on the filter support-bracket with the clamp (65) and the screw (35). Do not torque the screw at this time.
   (12) Torque the screws on the support bracket.
CAUTION: YOU MUST TORQUE THE BOLTS IN THE SEQUENCE GIVEN. IF YOU DO NOT TORQUE THE BOLTS IN SEQUENCE, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE PRESSURE HOSE/ TUBE.
     (a) TORQUE the screw (35) on the lower mid support bracket to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

     (b) TORQUE the screw (35) on the upper mid support bracket to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

     (c) TORQUE the screw (35) on the filter support bracket to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

     (d) TORQUE the screw (35) on the upper support bracket to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

D. Installation of the P-Clamps

POST SB RA32029-10

   (1) Install the P-Clamps (110), (120) and (115) on hoses (5), (55) and lower case drain hose.
   (2) Make sure that the P-clamps are installed 16.0 in. (0.4064 m) down from the top of the next higher clamp.
NOTE: Make sure there is 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) gap between the hose and the oil filter tube.
   (3) Install the bolt (95), washer (100), and nut (105).
   (4) TORQUE the nut (105) to between 35 and 30 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.34 m.daN ) T.
     (a) Do a play check to make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the fan cowl and the hydraulic lines. If there is not sufficient clearance, adjust the hydraulic lines as required.

E. Preparation for the Operational Test
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (
Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the ECAM control panel: push the HYD key (on the lower ECAM display unit, the HYD page comes into view).
   (3) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
Subtask 29-13-49-710-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F. Operational Test
   (1) On the lower ECAM display unit, on the HYD page:
  • make sure that the Yellow pressure is 3000 +200 psi or -200 psi (206.8427 +13.7895 bar or -13.7895 bar).
   (2) Do an operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
   (3) During the dry motoring, make sure that there are no leaks from the connections.
   (4) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the left fan-cowl door 447AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
   (5) Close the door 195BB.
