WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING: DO NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY. FLUSH HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR SKIN WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOU GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (3) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend off).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • On the HYD section of overhead panel 40VU
  • On the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
  • Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (6) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (3) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the hydraulic lines.
   (4) Remove these access panels:

     (a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the zones 420 and 480.
   (3) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position below the hydraulic lines.
   (4) Remove these access panels:
     (a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

F. Removal of Components
   (1) Removal of the fairings.
     (a) Remove the aft movable fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-55-00-000-001).
     (b) Remove the lower fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-56-00-000-001).
     (c) Remove the aft fixed fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-001).
   (2) Remove the fire extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
   (3) Remove the engine fire-extinguishing pipe (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-49-000-002).
   (4) Remove the bleed-air precooler exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-42-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-020-089-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Middle Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping
   (1) Disconnection of the middle pressure/suction/case drain/return piping:
     (a) Disconnect the suction pipe (1) from the hose (14).
     (b) Disconnect the pressure pipe (2) from the hose (15).
     (c) Disconnect the case drain pipe (3) from the pipe (12).
     (d) Disconnect the return pipe (4) from the hose (13).
     (e) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (2) Removal of the pipe clamp blocks:
     (a) Removal of the half clamp blocks (22) and (23) (detail C):
       1 Remove the bolts (24) and the washers (25).
       2 Remove the bolts (16) and the nuts (21) from the brackets (20).
       3 Remove the brackets (20).
       4 Remove the bolts (17) and the nuts (19).
       5 Remove the half clamp blocks (22) and (23) from the RIB 10.
       6 Remove and keep the bushings (18).
     (b) Removal of the clamp blocks (27), (28), and (29) (detail D):
       1 Remove the bolts (31), the washers (30) and the clamp block (29).
       2 Move axially the clamp block (28) and remove it.
       3 Move axially the clamp block (27) and remove it from the bracket (26).
       4 Remove and keep the bushings (32).
     (c) Removal of the clamp blocks (45), (46), (47), (52), (53), and (54) (detail E):
       1 Remove the bolts (59) and the washers (60).
       2 Remove the bolts (57), the washers (56) and the nuts (50).
       3 Remove the cover (58).
       4 Remove the spacers (55), (61) and the clamp block (45).
       5 Move axially the clamp block (46) and remove it.
       6 Move axially the clamp block (47) and remove it from the bracket (48).
       7 Remove the clamp block (54).
       8 Move axially the clamp block (53) and remove it.
       9 Move axially the clamp block (52).
       10 Remove the clamp block (52) and the plate (51).
       11 Remove and keep the bushings (44) and (49).
     (d) Removal of the clamp blocks (37), (38) and (39) (detail F):
       1 Remove the bolts (40) and the washers (41).
       2 Remove the bolts (42), the washers (43) and the nuts (36).
       3 Remove the bracket (33).
       4 Remove the clamp block (39).
       5 Move axially the clamp block (38) and remove it.
       6 Move axially the clamp block (37) and remove it from the bracket (35).
       7 Remove and keep the bushings (34).
   (3) Disconnection of the middle pressure/suction/case drain/return piping at the upper front spar:
     (a) Remove the bolts (10), the washers (11) and the nuts (5).
     (b) Use the 98D54003500000 SPECIAL WRENCH98D54003021000 SPECIAL WRENCH to disconnect the suction pipe (1) from the suction pipe (9).
     (c) Disconnect the pressure pipe (2) from the pressure pipe (8).
     (d) Disconnect the case drain pipe (3) from the case drain pipe (7).
     (e) Disconnect the return pipe (4) from the return pipe (6).
     (f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Removal of the middle pressure/suction/case drain/return piping:
     (a) Remove the suction pipe (1) from the engine pylon.
     (b) Remove the pressure pipe (2) from the engine pylon.
     (c) Remove the case drain pipe (3) from the engine pylon.
     (d) Remove the return pipe (4) from the engine pylon.
Subtask 29-13-49-020-090-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Removal of the Forward Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping
   (1) Removal of the pipe clamp blocks:
     (a) Removal of the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) (detail C):
       1 Remove the bolts (22) and the nuts (26).
       2 Remove the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) from the longitudinal bulkhead (27).
       3 Remove and retain the bushings (21).
     (b) Removal of the half clamp blocks (33) and (35) (detail D):
       1 Remove the bolts (31) and the washers (30) from the bracket (32).
       2 Remove the bolts (29) and the washers (28) from the half clamp block (33).
       3 Remove the half clamp blocks (33) and (35).
       4 Remove and retain the obturator (36).
   (2) Disconnection of the forward pressure/suction/case drain piping at the fluid disconnect panel:
     (a) Remove the bolts (15) and the washers (16).
     (b) Disconnect the suction pipe (5) from the quick-release coupling (14).
     (c) Remove the bolt (10) and the washer (11).
     (d) Remove the bolts (6) and the washers (7).
     (e) Disconnect the pressure pipe (4) from the quick-release coupling (13).
     (f) Remove the bolts (8) and the washers (9).
     (g) Disconnect the case drain pipe (3) from the hose (12).
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (3) Disconnection of the forward pressure/case drain/return piping:
     (a) Remove the bolts (17) and the washers (18).
     (b) Disconnect the return pipe (2).
     (c) Disconnect the pressure pipe (4) from the pipe (19).
     (d) Disconnect the case drain pipe (3) from the pipe (20).
     (e) Remove the bolt (38), the washer (41) and the nut (40).
     (f) Remove the clamp (37).
     (g) Remove and retain the bushing (39).
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Removal of the forward pressure/suction/case drain/return piping:
     (a) Remove the suction pipe (5) from the engine pylon.
     (b) Remove the pressure pipe (4) from the engine pylon.
     (c) Remove the case drain pipe (3) from the engine pylon.
     (d) Remove the return pipe (2) from the engine pylon.

B. Removal of the Forward Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping
   (1) Removal of the pipe clamp blocks:
     (a) Removal of the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) (detail C):
       1 Remove the bolts (22) and the nuts (26).
       2 Remove the clamp blocks (23), (24) and (25) from the longitudinal bulkhead (27).
       3 Remove and retain the bushings (21).
     (b) Removal of the clamp blocks (46), (47) and (48) (detail F):
       1 Remove the bolts (44), (45), the bushing (43) and the nuts (49).
       2 Remove the clamp blocks (46), (47) and (48) from the bracket (50).
       3 Remove and retain the bushings (42).
     (c) Removal of the half clamp blocks (33) and (35) (detail D):
       1 Remove the bolts (31) and the washers (30) from the bracket (32).
       2 Remove the bolts (29) and the washers (28) from the half clamp block (33).
       3 Remove the half clamp blocks (33) and (35).
       4 Remove and retain the obturator (36).
   (2) Disconnection of the forward pressure/suction/case drain piping at the fluid disconnect panel:
     (a) Remove the bolts (15) and the washers (16).
     (b) Disconnect the suction pipe (5) from the quick-release coupling (14).
     (c) Remove the bolt (10) and the washer (11).
     (d) Remove the bolts (6) and the washers (7).
     (e) Disconnect the pressure pipe (4) from the quick-release coupling (13).
     (f) Remove the bolts (8) and the washers (9).
     (g) Disconnect the case drain pipe (3) from the hose (12).
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (3) Disconnection of the forward pressure/case drain/return piping:
     (a) Remove the bolts (17) and the washers (18).
     (b) Disconnect the return pipe (2).
     (c) Disconnect the pressure pipe (4) from the pipe (19).
     (d) Disconnect the case drain pipe (3) from the pipe (20).
     (e) Remove the bolt (38), the washer (41) and the nut (40).
     (f) Remove the clamp (37).
     (g) Remove and retain the bushing (39).
     (h) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Removal of the forward pressure/suction/case drain/return piping:
     (a) Remove the suction pipe (5) from the engine pylon.
     (b) Remove the pressure pipe (4) from the engine pylon.
     (c) Remove the case drain pipe (3) from the engine pylon.
     (d) Remove the return pipe (2) from the engine pylon.
Subtask 29-13-49-020-091-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Removal of the Aft Pressure/Suction/Case Drain/Return Piping
   (1) Remove the nut (9) and the bolt (10).
   (2) Remove the clamp (11) and the bushing (12).
   (3) Disconnect the pump delivery hose (1) from the wing pipe (13) and the middle pipe (5).
   (4) Remove the pump delivery hose (1) from the pylon.
   (5) Disconnect the pump suction hose (2) from the wing pipe (12) and the middle pipe (6).
   (6) Remove the pump suction hose (2) from the pylon.
   (7) Disconnect the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit from the wing pipe (14) and the middle pipe (7).
   (8) Remove the return hose (3) of the thrust-reverser hydraulic control-unit from the pylon.
   (9) Disconnect the pump-case drain hose (4) from the wing pipe (11) and the middle pipe (8).
   (10) Remove the pump-case drain hose (4) from the pylon.
   (11) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
