4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-43-611-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Servicing of the Engine Pump Case-Drain Filter
CAUTION: DO NOT USE A WRENCH TO TIGHTEN THE FILTER BOWL. TIGHTEN IT WITH YOUR HAND ONLY. IF YOU USE A WRENCH YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Cut and remove the lockwire between the case (5) and the filter head.
   (2) Remove the case (5) with the filter element (15) from the filter head.
   (3) Remove and discard the filter element (15) with its packing from the case (5).
   (4) Examine the filter element in order to find the causes of contamination.
If you find metal particles in the filter element you must check the associated hydraulic system after operation in the engine pump in possible cavitation condition. (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006)
   (5) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the packing supplied with the new filter element (15).
   (6) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the threads of the case (5).
   (7) If the red clogging indicator is out, push it in to set it again.
   (8) Put the AIPC 29-13-43-02-020 FILTER ELEMENT (15) with its packing into the case (5).
   (9) Install the case (5) in the filter head and turn clockwise by hand.
   (10) Remove the container.
Subtask 29-13-43-710-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Operational Test
   (1) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (2) Do an operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
   (3) During the dry motoring of the engine 2, make sure that:
  • there are no leaks from the case drain filter,
  • the clogging indicator of the filter is not out.
   (4) Stop the dry motoring of the engine 2.
   (5) Safety the case (5) with corrosion resistant steel lockwire dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
   (6) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct.
If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up
