Subtask 29-11-44-860-050-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
  • on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
   (3) Open one of the main doors of the main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (4) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (5) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (6) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the the power transfer unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (7) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position.
   (8) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the filter to collect any hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-44-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Filter Element
   (1) Cut and remove the lockwire between the filter bowl (3) and the filter head (1).
   (2) Remove the filter bowl (3) together with the filter element (4).
   (3) Remove the filter element (4) from the filter bowl (3).
   (4) Discard the filter element (4).
NOTE: It is possible that the filter element (4) stays in the filter head (1). If it does, pull it out.
   (5) Remove and discard the O-ring (2) from the outside of the filter bowl (3).

B. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-13-44-01-020 O-RING (2) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) and install it on the filter bowl.
   (2) Do a check of the correct condition and installation of the O-ring (6).
NOTE: The O-ring (6) is part of the filter element (4).
   (3) Lubricate the O-ring (6) in the new AIPC 29-13-44-01-030 FILTER ELEMENT (4) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (4) Lubricate the threads of the filter bowl (3) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (5) If the red clogging indicator (5) is out, push it in to set it again.

C. Installation of the Filter Element
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do a check of the filter element (4) and make sure that it is clean and not damaged.
   (4) Install the filter element (4) together with its O-ring (6) in the filter bowl (3).
   (5) Engage the filter bowl (3) together with the new O-ring (2) in the filter head (1) and tighten it.
NOTE: Tighten the filter bowl (3) with your hands only.

D. Test of the Filter Assembly
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (3) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
   (4) Make sure that the clogging indicator stays in.
   (5) Make sure that no hydraulic fluid comes out of the filter assembly.
   (6) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
   (7) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-11-44-860-052-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Safety the filter bowl (3) to the filter head (1) with lockwire 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
   (2) Remove the container from below the filter.
   (3) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (6) Close the main door of the main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
