Installation of the Green Power Accumulator
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

Subtask 29-11-42-860-052-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
(6) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the main doors of the main gear.
(7) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(8) Make sure that the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is in position below the accumulator connections.
Subtask 29-11-42-865-051-A WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
- on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
(6) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the main doors of the main gear.
(7) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(8) Make sure that the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is in position below the accumulator connections.
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(a) Remove the union (5) and the O-ring (6).
(b) Remove and discard the lockwire from the adapter (11).
(c) Remove the adapter (11) together with the charging valve (13) and the pressure gage (12).
(d) Remove the O-ring (10) from the accumulator (14).
(e) Discard the O-rings (6) and (10).
(2) Install the removed parts on the replacement accumulator as follows:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the accumulator (14).
(b) Clean the union (5) and the adapter (11) and make sure that they are in good condition.
(c) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-11-03-05-070 O-RING (6) or AIPC 29-11-83-03-070 O-RING (6) and the new AIPC 29-11-03-05-090 O-RING (10) or AIPC 29-11-83-03-110 O-RING (10) and all threads with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
(d) Install the O-ring (6) on the removed union.
(e) Install the union (5) and TORQUE to between 6.827 and 6.258 m.daN (50.35 and 46.15 lbf.ft )

(f) Install the O-ring (10) on the removed adapter (11).
(g) Install the adapter (11) together with the pressure gage (12) and the air charging valve (13).
(h) TORQUE the adapter (11) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
(i) Safety the adapter (11) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)..
Subtask 29-11-42-560-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the parts which are attached to the removed accumulator (14) as follows: (a) Remove the union (5) and the O-ring (6).
(b) Remove and discard the lockwire from the adapter (11).
(c) Remove the adapter (11) together with the charging valve (13) and the pressure gage (12).
(d) Remove the O-ring (10) from the accumulator (14).
(e) Discard the O-rings (6) and (10).
(2) Install the removed parts on the replacement accumulator as follows:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the accumulator (14).
(b) Clean the union (5) and the adapter (11) and make sure that they are in good condition.
(c) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-11-03-05-070 O-RING (6) or AIPC 29-11-83-03-070 O-RING (6) and the new AIPC 29-11-03-05-090 O-RING (10) or AIPC 29-11-83-03-110 O-RING (10) and all threads with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
(d) Install the O-ring (6) on the removed union.
(e) Install the union (5) and TORQUE to between 6.827 and 6.258 m.daN (50.35 and 46.15 lbf.ft )

(d) Install the O-ring (6) on the removed union.
(e) Install the union (5) and TORQUE to between 14.24 and 14.0 m.daN (105.01 and 103.24 lbf.ft )

(f) Install the O-ring (10) on the removed adapter (11).
(g) Install the adapter (11) together with the pressure gage (12) and the air charging valve (13).
(h) TORQUE the adapter (11) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
.
(i) TORQUE the pressure gage (12) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
.
(j) TORQUE the charging valve (13) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
.
(k) Safety the adapter (11) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)..
Subtask 29-11-42-420-050-A WARNING:

(d) Remove the O-ring (10) from the accumulator (14).
(e) Discard the O-rings (6),(10).
(2) Install the removed parts on the replacement accumulator as follows:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the accumulator (14).
(b) Clean the union (5) and the adapter (11) and make sure that they are in good condition.
(c) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-11-03-05-070 O-RING (6) or AIPC 29-11-83-03-070 O-RING (6) and the new AIPC 29-11-03-05-090 O-RING (10) or AIPC 29-11-83-03-110 O-RING (10) and all threads with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
(d) Install the O-ring (6) on the removed union.
(e) Install the union (5) and TORQUE to between 14.24 and 14.0 m.daN (105.01 and 103.24 lbf.ft )
. (f) Install the O-ring (10) on the removed adapter (11).
(g) Install the adapter (11) together with the pressure gage (12) and the air charging valve (13).
(h) TORQUE the adapter (11) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
. (i) TORQUE the pressure gage (12) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
. (j) TORQUE the charging valve (13) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
. (k) Safety the adapter (11) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)..
B. Installation of the Power Accumulator
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove all CAP - BLANKING.
(4) Put the accumulator assembly in its mounting and install the washer (4) and the nut (3).
(6) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(7) Install the union nut (2) on the union (5).
(8) TORQUE the union nut (2) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the line end fitting.
(10) Install the hydraulic line free of stress with the union nut (1) on the union (2).
(11) TORQUE the union nut (1) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
.
Subtask 29-11-42-790-050-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove all CAP - BLANKING.
(4) Put the accumulator assembly in its mounting and install the washer (4) and the nut (3).
NOTE: Install the accumulator assembly so that you can easily read the pressure gage and you have good access to the charging valve.
(5) Install the clamps (7) and tighten the screws. (6) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(7) Install the union nut (2) on the union (5).
(8) TORQUE the union nut (2) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
. (9) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the line end fitting.
(10) Install the hydraulic line free of stress with the union nut (1) on the union (2).
(11) TORQUE the union nut (1) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
. C. Test of the Power Accumulator
(1) Fill the accumulator with nitrogen (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-29-614-001).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) from the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system and from the cockpit.
(3) Pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(4) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(5) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
(6) Examine the accumulator connections and make sure that there are no hydraulic fluid or nitrogen leaks.
(7) Make sure that the pressure gage (12) shows 3000 +100 -100 psi.
(8) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(9) Do the bleeding procedure of the Green hydraulic system downstream of the engine pump (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-870-003).
5. Close-up(1) Fill the accumulator with nitrogen (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-29-614-001).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) from the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system and from the cockpit.
(3) Pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(4) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(5) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
(6) Examine the accumulator connections and make sure that there are no hydraulic fluid or nitrogen leaks.
(7) Make sure that the pressure gage (12) shows 3000 +100 -100 psi.
(8) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(9) Do the bleeding procedure of the Green hydraulic system downstream of the engine pump (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-870-003).
NOTE: When you do the bleeding procedure, nitrogen, which has gone into the hydraulic system from the defective accumulator, is removed.
Subtask 29-11-42-860-051-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(2) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
(3) Remove the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT from below the accumulator.
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(5) Remove the access platform.
(6) Close the left door of the main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
Subtask 29-11-42-865-052-A (1) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(2) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
(3) Remove the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT from below the accumulator.
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(5) Remove the access platform.
(6) Close the left door of the main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
