WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

A. Fill the Applicable Accumulator with Nitrogen
(1) Do a check of the nitrogen pressure gage, before you fill the applicable accumulator:
(a) If the nitrogen pressure is below correct nominal value, continue as follows:
1 Remove the blanking cap (1) from the charging valve (2).
2 Connect the 98F29103500000 FILL UNIT-NITROGEN or a nitrogen bench capable of maximum pressure 155 bar (2248.08 psi) to the charging valve (2).
4 Open the control valve slowly and fill the hydraulic power accumulator with the nitrogen Individual Compound-- Nitrogen Gaseous (Material No.14VGC1) to the correct pressure for the ambient temperature (refer to Table I), then continue with step (2).
(b) If the nitrogen pressure is above correct nominal value, continue as follows:
1 Remove the blanking cap (1) from the charging valve (2).
2 Turn the charging valve nut (2) slowly in the direction of the OPEN position and release the nitrogen pressure to the correct pressure for the ambient temperature (refer to Table I), then continue with step (2).
(2) Wait for approx 1 minute to make sure that the pressure in the bladder is stable.
(3) When the pressure is stable and correct, tighten the charging valve nut (2).
(4) TORQUE the charging valve nut (2) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
.
(5) Make sure that the pressure shown on the pressure gage (3) is correct.
(6) Stop the supply and remove the nitrogen filling system from the charging valve (2).
(7) Loosely install the blanking cap (1) on the charging valve (2).
(8) TORQUE the blanking cap (1) to between 10.0 and 5.0 lbf.in (0.11 and 0.06 m.daN )
.
5. Close-up(1) Do a check of the nitrogen pressure gage, before you fill the applicable accumulator:
(a) If the nitrogen pressure is below correct nominal value, continue as follows:
1 Remove the blanking cap (1) from the charging valve (2).
2 Connect the 98F29103500000 FILL UNIT-NITROGEN or a nitrogen bench capable of maximum pressure 155 bar (2248.08 psi) to the charging valve (2).
NOTE: When you use the 98F29103500000 FILL UNIT-NITROGEN it is necessary to connect the Standard Tool female adapter 0.302" - 32 to the end of the hose of the nitrogen source, before you put it in the charging valve.
3 Loosen the charging valve nut (2). 4 Open the control valve slowly and fill the hydraulic power accumulator with the nitrogen Individual Compound-- Nitrogen Gaseous (Material No.14VGC1) to the correct pressure for the ambient temperature (refer to Table I), then continue with step (2).
