Installation of the Pylon Manifold
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001)
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
(3) Make sure that the flaps are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).

(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
(3) Make sure that the flaps are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(5) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
Subtask 29-11-16-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 29-11-16-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
- On the HYD section of panel 40VU
- On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
(4) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(5) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
- Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the rear pylon.

E. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) is in position below the pylon manifold.

Subtask 29-11-16-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Pylon Manifold
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Install the pylon manifold (6) on the pylon.
(5) Do an electrical bonding on the pylon manifold (6) at the top bolt (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Install the bolts (1), the washers (2) and the nuts (7). Do not tighten.
(7) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(8) Connection of the tubes
(b) Connect the tube (8) to the pylon manifold (6).
(c) TORQUE the tube (8) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )

(d) Tighten the nuts (7).
(e) Connect the tube (5) to the pylon manifold (6).
(f) TORQUE the tube (5) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
.
(g) Connect the tube (4) to the pylon manifold (6).
(h) TORQUE the tube (4) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Install the engine-pump pressure switch (3) on the pylon manifold (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-17-400-802).
(10) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 29-11-16-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Install the pylon manifold (6) on the pylon.
(5) Do an electrical bonding on the pylon manifold (6) at the top bolt (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(6) Install the bolts (1), the washers (2) and the nuts (7). Do not tighten.
(7) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(8) Connection of the tubes
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(a) Install a WRENCH - CROWFOOT on the flats of the pylon manifold (6) to hold it. - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(b) Connect the tube (8) to the pylon manifold (6).
(c) TORQUE the tube (8) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
. (d) Tighten the nuts (7).
(e) Connect the tube (5) to the pylon manifold (6).
(f) TORQUE the tube (5) to between 9.5 and 8.5 m.daN (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
. (g) Connect the tube (4) to the pylon manifold (6).
(h) TORQUE the tube (4) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. (9) Install the engine-pump pressure switch (3) on the pylon manifold (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-17-400-802).
(10) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
B. Operational Test
(1) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Do the operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
(4) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the engine-pump pressure switch (3) and the tubes (4), (5) and (8).
(5) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up(1) Remove the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Do the operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
(4) After the dry-motoring, make sure that there were no leaks from the engine-pump pressure switch (3) and the tubes (4), (5) and (8).
(5) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

B. Close Access
(1) Close access doors 197CB and 195BB.
(2) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Close access doors 197CB and 195BB.
(2) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
