   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (2) In the cockpit, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the flaps are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure that the Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 spoilers are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
   (3) Make sure that the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER is installed on the piston rod of the servo-control.
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position below the applicable zone.
   (5) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004):
   (6) Make sure that No. 4 Flap-Track movable fairings is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-001).
   (7) Make sure that the Track 4 actuator is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-49-000-004).
   (8) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control-lever.
   (9) Make sure that the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT is on the torque shaft adjacent to the Track 4 actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).

   (1) Make sure that the flaps are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).

   (8) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control-lever.
   (9) Make sure that the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT is on the torque shaft adjacent to the Track 4 actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-400-003).

A. Preparation for Installation
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove the unwanted sealant from all surfaces with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and or the adjacent areas with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Examine the bushes and bearing surfaces for wear and for general condition.

   (1) Install the bolts (1) in the outboard bracket (13) with the bolt heads inboard.
   (2) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating face of the anti-rotation plate (14).
   (3) Install the anti-rotation plate (14) on the bolts (1) and loosely install the nuts (19).
   (4) Apply Release Agent-- Water Base - (Material No.14DAB1) on the holes of the bearing housings in the brackets (13).
   (5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the plain shank and flange of the bearing housing (11).
   (6) Install the bearing housing (11) in the outboard bracket (13) and tighten the nuts (19).
   (7) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the ring nut (18).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (8) Install the ring nut (18) on the bearing housing (11).
   (9) TORQUE the ring nut (18) with the 98D27504029000 SPANNER-SOCKET (FLAP LEVER TRACK 4) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (10) If necessary, drill a 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) hole for the cotter pin (15) in an applicable position on the bearing housing (11).
   (11) Remove all unwanted material from the work area.
   (12) Safety the ring nut (18) with a new
AIPC 27-54-05-29-015 COTTER PIN (15).
   (13) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.
03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the bearing surfaces of the lever (5).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (14) Turn the lever (5) 90 degrees and install it in the bearing housing (11).
   (15) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating face of the bearing housing (3) and on the bolt (2).
   (16) Install the bearing housing (3), bolt (2) and nut (20).
   (17) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the spacer (12) and the bolt (4).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (18) Install the spacer (12), bolt (4) and nut (16).
   (19) TORQUE the nut (16) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (20) Manually operate the lever (5) and make sure that it moves freely.
   (21) Safety the nut (16) with a new
AIPC 27-54-05-29-015 COTTER PIN (17).
   (22) Remove the adjustable strut.
   (23) Move the flap to align the flap link arms (9) with the lever (5).
   (24) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.
06LCG9) on the bolt (10) and the nut (7).
   (25) Install the bolt (10), washer (8) and nut (7).
   (26) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 22 and 19.5 m.N (16.22 and 14.38 lbf.ft ) T and safety with new AIPC 27-54-05-35-010 COTTER-PINS (6).
   (27) Do a check of the flap rigged position (
Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-003).
   (28) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) on the bolt (10) and the nut (7) after assembly.
   (29) Install the track 4 actuator 6233CM(6283CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-49-400-004).

   (1) Install the bolts (1) in the outboard bracket (13) with the bolt heads inboard.

   (5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the plain shank and flange of the bearing housing (11).
   (6) Install the bearing housing (11) in the outboard bracket (13) and tighten the nuts (19).
   (7) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the ring nut (18).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (8) Install the ring nut (18) on the bearing housing (11).
   (9) TORQUE the ring nut (18) with the 98D27504029000 SPANNER-SOCKET (FLAP LEVER TRACK 4) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (10) If necessary, drill a 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) hole for the cotter pin (15) in an applicable position on the bearing housing (11).
   (11) Remove all unwanted material from the work area.
   (12) Safety the ring nut (18) with a new
AIPC 27-54-05-29-015 COTTER PIN (15).
   (13) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.
03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the bearing surfaces of the lever (5).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (14) Turn the lever (5) 90 degrees and install it in the bearing housing (11).
   (15) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating face of the bearing housing (3) and on the bolt (2).
   (16) Install the bearing housing (3), bolt (2) and nut (20).
   (17) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the spacer (12) and the bolt (4).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (18) Install the spacer (12), bolt (4) and nut (16).
   (19) TORQUE the nut (16) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (20) Manually operate the lever (5) and make sure that it moves freely.
   (21) Safety the nut (16) with a new
AIPC 27-54-05-29-015 COTTER PIN (17).
   (22) Remove the adjustable strut.
   (23) Move the flap to align the flap link arms (9) with the lever (5).
   (24) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.
06LCG9) on the bolt (10) and the nut (7).
   (25) Install the bolt (10), washer (8) and nut (7).
   (26) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 33 and 25 m.N (24.34 and 18.44 lbf.ft ) T and safety with new AIPC 27-54-05-35-010 COTTER-PINS (6).
   (27) Do a check of the flap rigged position (
Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-003).
   (28) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) on the bolt (10) and the nut (7) after assembly.
   (29) Install the track 4 actuator 6233CM(6283CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-49-400-004).

F Flap Actuator Lever - Track 4 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Install the bolts (1) in the outboard bracket (15) with the bolt heads inboard.
   (2) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating face of the anti-rotation plate (16).
   (3) Install the anti-rotation plate (16) on the bolts (1) and loosely install the nuts (21).
   (4) Apply Release Agent-- Water Base - (Material No.14DAB1) on the holes of the bearing housings in the brackets (15).
   (5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the plain shank and flange of the bearing housing (11).
   (6) Install the bearing housing (11) in the outboard bracket (15) and tighten the nuts (21).
   (7) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the ring nut (20).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (8) Install the ring nut (20) on the bearing housing (11).
   (9) TORQUE the ring nut (20) with the 98D27504029000 SPANNER-SOCKET (FLAP LEVER TRACK 4) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (10) If necessary, drill a 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) hole for the cotter pin (17) in an applicable position on the bearing housing (11).
   (11) Remove all unwanted material from the work area.
   (12) Safety the ring nut (20) with the new
AIPC 27-54-05-29-015 COTTER PIN (17) or AIPC 27-54-85-21-010 COTTER PIN (17).
   (13) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.
03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the bearing surfaces of the lever (5).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (14) Turn the lever (5) 90 degrees and install it in the bearing housing (11).
   (15) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating face of the bearing housing (3) and on the bolt (2).
   (16) Install the bearing housing (3), bolt (2) and nut (22).
   (17) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the spacer (12) and bolt (4).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (18) Install the spacer (12), the bolt (4), the washer(s) (13) and/or (14) and the nut (18).
   (19) To align the cotter pin hole and to correctly lock the nut (18) at the specified torque:
     (a) Install one or two of the washers (13) and (14), or one washer (13) and one washer (14).
   (20) TORQUE the nut (18) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (21) If the cotter pin hole does not align with the nut (18), continue as follows:
     (a) Remove the nut (18) and the washers (13) and/or (14).
     (b) Do Step (18) again with a different configuration of the washers (13) and/or (14).
     (c) Do Step (19) again.
   (22) Manually operate the lever (5) and make sure that it moves freely.
   (23) Safety the nut (18) with the new
AIPC 27-54-05-29-015 COTTER PIN (19) or AIPC 27-54-85-21-010 COTTER PIN (19).
   (24) Remove the adjustable strut.
   (25) Move the flap to align the flap link arms (9) with the lever (5).
   (26) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.
06LCG9) on the bolt (10) and the nut (7).
   (27) Install the bolt (10), washer (8) and nut (7).

   (6) Install the bearing housing (11) in the outboard bracket (15) and tighten the nuts (21).
   (7) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the ring nut (20).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (8) Install the ring nut (20) on the bearing housing (11).
   (9) TORQUE the ring nut (20) with the 98D27504029000 SPANNER-SOCKET (FLAP LEVER TRACK 4) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (10) If necessary, drill a 2.5 mm (0.10 in.) hole for the cotter pin (17) in an applicable position on the bearing housing (11).
   (11) Remove all unwanted material from the work area.
   (12) Safety the ring nut (20) with a new
AIPC 27-54-05-29-015 COTTER PIN (17).
   (13) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.
03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the bearing surfaces of the lever (5).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (14) Turn the lever (5) 90 degrees and install it in the bearing housing (11).
   (15) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating face of the bearing housing (3) and on the bolt (2).
   (16) Install the bearing housing (3), bolt (2) and nut (22).
   (17) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the spacer (12) and the bolt (4).
     (a) For the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
   (18) Install the spacer (12), the bolt (4), the washer(s) (13) and/or (14) and the nut (18).
   (19) To align the cotter pin hole and to correctly lock the nut (18) at the specified torque:
     (a) Install one or two of the washers (13) and (14), or one washer (13) and one washer (14).
   (20) TORQUE the nut (18) to between 15 and 14 m.N (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft ) T.
   (21) If the cotter pin hole does not align with the nut (18), continue as follows:

   (16) Install the bearing housing (3), the bolt (2) and the nut (22).
   (17) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) to the spacer (12) and the bolt (4).

   (18) Install the spacer (12), the bolt (4), the washers (13) and/or (14) and the nut (18).
