B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) On the center pedestal:
(a) Turn the pitch-trim control-wheel to the nose DN stop position.
(b) Turn the pitch-trim control-wheel to the nose UP stop position.
(c) Do the steps (3) (a) and (b) again.
(d) Turn the pitch-trim control wheel to the 0 position.
(4) Depressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(6) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(7) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems:
(9) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the pitch controls.
(10) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 312AR.
(11) Open the access door 312AR.
4. Procedure(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Pressurize the Yellow and the Green hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001). (3) On the center pedestal:
(a) Turn the pitch-trim control-wheel to the nose DN stop position.
(b) Turn the pitch-trim control-wheel to the nose UP stop position.
(c) Do the steps (3) (a) and (b) again.
(d) Turn the pitch-trim control wheel to the 0 position.
(4) Depressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(6) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(7) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems:
- in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU on the overhead panel,
- on the ground service panels of the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems.
(9) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the pitch controls.
(10) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 312AR.
(11) Open the access door 312AR.
Subtask 27-44-51-610-050-A
A. Drain and Refill the Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer Actuator Gearbox
(1) Put a CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT in position below the THS actuator (1).
(2) Remove the oil drain plug (2) from the oil drain fitting (3).
(3) Remove the oil filler plug (4) from the oil filler fitting (5).
(4) Install the 0U190364 OIL DRAINING TOOL on the oil drain fitting (3).
(5) Drain the oil from the THS actuator (1) into the drainage container.
(6) Remove the 0U190364 OIL DRAINING TOOL.
(7) Install the oil drain plug (2) on the oil drain fitting (3).
(8) Install the oil filler plug (4) on the oil filler fitting (5).
(9) Remove the drainage container.
(10) Fill the THS actuator (1) with the correct oil to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-27-612-001).
(11) Do a visual check of the THS actuator (1) and make sure that there are no leaks from:
5. Close-up(1) Put a CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT in position below the THS actuator (1).
(2) Remove the oil drain plug (2) from the oil drain fitting (3).
(3) Remove the oil filler plug (4) from the oil filler fitting (5).
(4) Install the 0U190364 OIL DRAINING TOOL on the oil drain fitting (3).
(5) Drain the oil from the THS actuator (1) into the drainage container.
(6) Remove the 0U190364 OIL DRAINING TOOL.
(7) Install the oil drain plug (2) on the oil drain fitting (3).
(8) Install the oil filler plug (4) on the oil filler fitting (5).
(9) Remove the drainage container.
(10) Fill the THS actuator (1) with the correct oil to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-27-612-001).
(11) Do a visual check of the THS actuator (1) and make sure that there are no leaks from:
- The oil filler plug and adaptor,
- the oil drain plug.
Subtask 27-44-51-860-062-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access door 312AR.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the 98D27403500000 PITCH TRIM CONTROL LOCKING from the pitch-trim control-wheel in the cockpit (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-001).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access door 312AR.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the 98D27403500000 PITCH TRIM CONTROL LOCKING from the pitch-trim control-wheel in the cockpit (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-001).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
