A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (3) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC system 1(2).
   (4) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
     (a) Put the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION in position on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
   (3) Remove the access doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-804):

G. Removal of the Components
   (1) Remove the two engine fire-extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
   (2) Removal of the engine fire-extinguishing bottle-supports
     (a) Remove the bracket (34).
       1 Remove the two bolts (31) and washers (32) from the clamp (33).
       2 Disengage the clamp (33) from the bracket (34).
       3 Remove the two bolts (36) and nuts (39).
       4 Remove the two bolts (37) and nuts (38).
       5 Remove the bracket (34) from the support (35).
     (b) Remove the bracket (46).
       1 Remove the two bolts (41) and washers (42) from the two clamps (43).
       2 Disengage the cable (40) from the two clamps (43).
       3 Remove the two clamps (43) from the support (44).
       4 Remove the three bolts (50) and nuts (47).
       5 Remove the three bolts (49) and nuts (48).
       6 Remove the bracket (46) from the support (45).
     (c) Remove the bracket (52).
       1 Remove the four bolts (54) and nuts (53).
       2 Remove the bracket (52) from the support (51).
   (3) If necessary:
   (4) Remove the thermal blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-61-000-802).
4. Procedure
Subtask 26-21-49-020-062-A
A. Removal of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipe (Aft Part)
   (1) Loosen the nut (4).
   (2) Remove the three bolts (6) and washers (5).
   (3) Remove the two bolts (10) and washers (9) from the two brackets (8) and (11).
   (4) Remove the two bolts (13) and washers (12) from the bracket (8) and the welded bracket (7).
   (5) Remove the bracket (8).
   (6) Disconnect the pipe (1) from the pipe (2).
   (7) Loosen the nut (19).
   (8) Remove the three bolts (21) and washers (20).
   (9) Disconnect the pipe (1) from the pipe (22).
   (10) Remove the four bolts (17) and washers (16) from the two clamps (15).
   (11) Remove the two clamps (15) from the two brackets (14) and the pipe (1).
   (12) Remove the pipe (1) from the pylon.
   (13) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.

B. Removal of the Engine Fire-Extinguishing Pipe (Center Part)
NOTE: You must remove the aft part of the engine fire-extinguishing pipe before you remove the center part of the engine fire-extinguishing pipe.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the union when you disconnect/connect the two pipes.
   (1) Loosen the nut (24).
   (2) Remove the bolt (29) and washer (28) from the clamp (27).
   (3) Remove the clamp (27) from the bracket (26) and the pipe (2).
   (4) Disconnect the pipe (2) from the pipe (25).
   (5) Disengage the elbow (3) from the interface (23).
   (6) Remove the pipe (2) from the pylon.
   (7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
