OPERATIONAL CHECK OF DC GENERATION SWITCHING
Make sure that DC BUS1, DC BUS2 and DC ESS busbars are supplied if transformer TR1 or TR2 fails.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 35VU, make sure that the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches are pushed. (On these pushbutton switches, the OFF legend is off).
   (3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel, get the ELEC page.
   (5) On the MCDU, get the ELEC menu on the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST page. (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-004)
NOTE: If during the electrical transfers, the displays on the lower ECAM display unit or on the MCDU go out of view, do paragraph (4) or (5) again.

   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE at the access doors 812 and 822.
   (2) Open the access doors 812 and 822.

A. Operational Test of the DC Generation Switching
NOTE: This test is for the system 1. For the other system(s), use the indications between the parentheses.

1.On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • Release the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches.
On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legends of the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches come on.
2.On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • Push the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches.
On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legends of the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches go off.
3.On the rear circuit breaker panel, on panel 122VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 3PU1(2).
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) supplies the DC1(2) busbar.
4.On the rear circuit breaker panel, on panel 125VU (124VU):
  • Open circuit breaker 4PU1(2).
On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) FAULT indication comes into view.

On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) no longer supplies the DC1(2) busbar,
  • The DC2(1) busbar supplies the DC1(2) busbar, through the DC BAT busbar,
  • The AC ESS busbar supplies the DC ESS busbar through the ESS TR.
5.On the rear circuit breaker panel, on panels 122VU and 125VU (124VU):
  • Close circuit breakers 3PU1(2) and 4PU1(2).
There is no change.
6.On the MCDU, on the ELEC page:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the TR1(2) indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The TR1(2) page comes into view.
7.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the RESET indication.
On the TR1(2) page:
  • The NO FAULT indication comes into view.

On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) FAULT indication goes out of view.

On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) supplies the DC1(2) busbar.
8.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the ELEC page comes into view.

9.On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • Release the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • The ALTN legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch comes on.
10.On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • Push the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • The ALTN legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch goes off.
11.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The ESS TR no longer supplies the DC ESS busbar (the normal configuration comes into view).
NOTE: It is possible that the ESS TR continues to supply the DC ESS busbar. If this occurs, on the AC power center 123VU, open and close circuit breaker 1XC. Make sure that the ESS TR no longer supplies the DC ESS busbar.
12.Wait until the BAT1 and the BAT2 are not connected to the DC BAT busbar.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • There is no green line between the BAT1 and the DC BAT busbar.
  • There is no green line between the BAT2 and the DC BAT busbar.
13.On the rear circuit breaker panel, on panel 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 2PU1(2).
On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) FAULT indication comes into view.

On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) no longer supplies the DC1(2) busbar,
  • The DC2(1) busbar supplies DC1(2) busbar through the DC BAT busbar,
  • The voltage from TR1(2) = 0V,
  • The AC ESS busbar supplies the DC ESS busbar through the ESS TR.
14.On the rear circuit breaker panel, on panel 123VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 2PU1(2).
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The voltage from TR1(2) is approximately 28V.
15.On the MCDU, on the ELEC page:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the TR1(2) indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The TR1(2) page comes into view.
16.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line key adjacent to the RESET indication
On the MCDU, on the TR1(2) page:
  • The NO FAULT indication comes into view.

On the upper ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) FAULT indication goes out of view.

On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The TR1(2) supplies the DC1(2) busbar.
17.On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.

18.On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • Release the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • The ALTN legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch comes on.
19.On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • Push the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
On the overhead panel, on ELEC panel 35VU:
  • The ALTN legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch goes off.
20.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Push the ELEC key to get ELEC page.
On the lower ECAM display unit:
  • The ESS TR no longer supplies the DC ESS busbar (the normal configuration comes into view).
NOTE: It is possible that the ESS TR continues to supply the DC ESS busbar. If this occurs, on the AC power center 123VU, open and close circuit breaker 1XC. Make sure that the ESS TR no longer supplies the DC ESS busbar.

   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure

   (1) Close the access doors 812 and 822.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
