A. Aircraft Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key (on the lower ECAM DU, the ELEC page comes into view).
   (4) On the MCDU, get the system REPORT/TEST/ELEC page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-004).
   (5) Make sure that the AC ESS FEED, BUS TIE and GALLEY pushbutton switches are pushed.

A. Energization of the Aircraft with Batteries 1 and 2

FUNCTION OF THE TEST
1.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the EXT POWER pushbutton switch.

  • Release the BAT 1 and BAT 2 pushbutton switches.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The AVAIL legend of the EXT POWER pushbutton switch comes on.

  • The OFF legends of the BAT 1 and BAT 2 pushbutton switches come on.

  • The battery voltmeters show a value higher than 25 volts.
To do the electrical configuration where only batteries are available but not connected to the network.
NOTE: Only hot buses are supplied.
2.On the EMER ELEC PWR section of panel 21VU:
  • Open the guard, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
Wait until the PFD and upper ECAM DU images come into view.
To do a check of the static inverter and make sure that it operates correctly.
To make sure that the batteries correctly supply the AC ESS, DC ESS and 901XP busbars.
3.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Push and hold the ELEC key.
On the upper ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "STAT INV" indication comes into view (115V and 400Hz).
To make sure that the status of the static inverter is "OK" on the ECAM DU.
4.Release the ELEC key of the ECAM control panel and the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch of the EMER ELEC PWR section of panel 21VU.

To complete the test.

B. Ground Service Configuration

1.On control panel 2000VU:
  • Set the MAINT BUS switch to ON.
In the right avionics compartment:
  • TR2 operates.
To do a check of the ground service configuration and make sure that TR2 operates correctly.
2.On panel 122VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 6XG and then close it.
In the right avionics compartment
  • TR2 does not operate.
To deactivate TR2.

C. Loss of Busbars 1XP and 2XP

FUNCTION OF THE TEST
1.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Push the BAT 1 and BAT 2 pushbutton switches.

  • Push the EXT POWER pushbutton switch.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legends of the BAT 1 and BAT 2 pushbutton switches go off.

  • The AVAIL legend of the EXT POWER pushbutton switch goes off.
To supply electrical network with EXT PWR and let the Battery Charge Limiter (BCL) manage the BAT contactors.
2.On panel 122VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 17XN1.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC1" busbar indication comes into view in amber.
  • The DC2 busbar energizes the DC BAT busbar.
  • The ESS TR busbar energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To simulate the loss of the AC1 busbar.
To do a check of the DC BAT and DC ESS busbars and make sure that they are configured again correctly.
To make sure that the ECAM warning is shown.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "AC BUS1 FAULT" warning comes into view.
3.On panel 122VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 17XN1.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC1" busbar indication comes into view in green.
  • The DC1 busbar energizes the DC BAT busbar.
  • The ESS TR busbar energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To stop the simulation of loss of the AC1 busbar.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "AC BUS1 FAULT" warning goes out of view.
4.On panel 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 1XC and then close it.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The DC1 busbar energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To stop the Essential (ESS) Transformer Rectifier (TR).
5.On panel 122VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 17XN2.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC2" busbar indication comes into view in amber.
To simulate the loss of the AC2 busbar.
To make sure that the ECAM warning is shown.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "AC BUS2 FAULT" warning comes into view.
6.On panel 122VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 17XN2.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC2" busbar indication comes into view in green.
To stop the simulation of loss of the AC2 busbar.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "AC BUS2 FAULT" warning goes out of view.

D. Transmission Logic of Busbar 4XP

1.On AC power center 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 1XC.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The FAULT legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch comes on.
On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The "AC ESS BUS FAULT" and
    "AC ESS FEED .... ALTN" warnings come into view.
To disconnect the AC ESS busbar and make sure that the ECAM warning is shown.
2.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Push and hold the ELEC KEY.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC ESS" busbar indication comes into view in amber.
  • The "SHED" indication comes into view below the "AC ESS" busbar indication.
To make sure that the AC ESS busbar is disconnected on the ECAM DU.
3.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
On the ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The FAULT legend of the AC ESS FEED pusbutton switch goes off and the ALTN legend comes on.
To get the AC ESS supply again from the AC2 busbar.
To make sure that the "AC ESS BUS FAULT" ECAM warning is not shown at this time.

On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC ESS" busbar indication comes into view in green.
  • The "SHED" indication goes out of view.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "AC ESS BUS FAULT" and
    "AC ESS FEED .... ALTN" warnings go out of view.
4.On AC power center 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 2XC.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The FAULT legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch comes on and the ALTN legend stays on.

    On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The "AC ESS BUS FAULT" warning comes into view.
To disconnect the AC ESS busbar and make sure that the ECAM warning is shown.
5.On the ECAM control panel:
  • Push and hold the ELEC key.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC ESS" busbar indication comes into view in amber.
  • The "SHED" indication comes into view below the "AC ESS" busbar indication.
To make sure that the AC ESS busbar is disconnected on the ECAM DU.
6.On AC power center 123VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 2XC.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The FAULT legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch goes off and the ALTN legend stays on.
To put the circuit breaker back to its initial configuration.
To get the AC ESS supply again from the AC2 busbar.
To make sure that the "AC ESS BUS FAULT" ECAM warning is not shown at this time.

On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "AC ESS" busbar indication becomes green.
  • The "SHED" indication goes out of view.
On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The "AC ESS BUS FAULT" warning goes out of view.
7.On AC power center 123VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 1XC.
No change.
To put the circuit breaker back to its initial configuration.
8.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Push the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The ALTN legend of the AC ESS FEED pushbutton switch goes off.
To put the AC ESS supply back to its initial configuration.

On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The line between the "AC2" and "AC ESS" busbar indications goes out of view.
  • The line between the "AC1" and "AC ESS" busbar indications comes into view.
To make sure that the initial configuration is correct on the ECAM DU.

E. Loss of the Electrical Network with the BUS TIE Pushbutton Switch

1.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the BUS TIE pushbutton switch.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legend of the BUS TIE pushbutton switch comes on.
To stop the electrical power supply from EXT PWR.
NOTE: Only batteries are available.

Make sure that the lower and upper ECAM DUs are de-energized.
To make sure that the electrical power supply is stopped from EXR PWR.
2.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Push the BUS TIE pushbutton switch.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legend of the BUS TIE pushbutton switch goes off.
To supply the electrical power again from EXT PWR.

Make sure that the lower and upper ECAM DUs are energized again.
To make sure that the electrical power is supplied again from EXR PWR.

F. Galley Shedding Logic

1.On panel 122VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 7XA.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "GALLEY SHED" indication comes into view.
To disconnect the galleys.
2.On panel 122VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 7XA.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "GALLEY SHED" indication goes out of view.
To connect the supply of the galleys again.
3.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the GALLEY pushbutton switch.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "GALLEY SHED" indication comes into view.
To disconnect the galleys.
4.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Push the GALLEY pushbutton switch.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "GALLEY SHED" indication goes out of view.
To connect the supply of the galleys again.

G. Transmission Logic of the DC Electrical Network
This test is for system 1. For the other system(s), use the indications between parentheses.

FUNCTION OF THE TEST
1.On panel 122VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 3PU1 (3PU2).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • No change.
To stop the Backup Power Supply (BPS) of the TR1(2) fault-detection module.
2.On panel 125VU (124VU):
  • Open circuit breaker 4PU1 (4PU2).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • TR1(2) stops to energize the DC1(2) busbar.
  • The "DC1" ("DC2") busbar indication stays amber for five seconds.
  • The TR1(2) voltage parameter is between 29V and 31V.
  • The TR1(2) current parameter is less than 5A.
  • The DC2(1) busbar energizes the DC1(2) busbar with the DC BAT busbar.
  • The ESS TR energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To apply force on contactor 5PU1(2) to open it (simulate a TR1(2) failure).
To do a check of the DC1(2), DC BAT and DC ESS busbars and make sure that they are configured again correctly.
To make sure that the ECAM warning is shown.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "TR1" ("TR2") warning comes into view.
3.On panels 122VU and 125VU:
  • Close circuit breakers 3PU1(2) and 4PU1(2).
No change.
To put the circuit breakers back to their initial configuration.
4.On the MCDU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "TR1" ("TR2") indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The "TR1" ("TR2") page comes into view.
To get access to the TR1(2) menu on the MCDU.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "RESET" indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The "NO FAULT" indication comes into view.
To do a reset of TR1(2).
To get the DC1(2) power supply again from TR1(2).
To make sure that the ECAM warning is not shown at this time.

On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • TR1(2) energizes the DC1(2) busbar.
  • The ESS TR continues to energize the DC ESS busbar.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "TR1 FAULT" ("TR2 FAULT") warning goes out of view.
5.On panel 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 1XC and then close it.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The DC1 busbar energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To stop the ESS TR.
6.On panel 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 2PU1 (2).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • TR1(2) stops to energize the DC1(2) busbar.
  • The "DC1" ("DC2") busbar indication stays amber for five seconds.
  • The TR1(2) voltage parameter is approximately 0V.
  • The TR1(2) current parameter is less than 5A.
  • The DC2(1) busbar energizes the DC1(2) busbar with the DC BAT busbar.
  • The ESS TR energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To stop TR1(2).
To do a check of the DC1(2), DC BAT and DC ESS busbars and make sure that they are configured again correctly.
To make sure that the ECAM warning is shown.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "TR1 FAULT" ("TR2 FAULT") warning comes into view.
7.On panel 123VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 2PU1 (2).
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The TR1(2) voltage parameter is between 29V and 31V.
  • The TR1(2) current parameter is less than 5A.
To put the circuit breaker back to its initial configuration.
To get the power supply again from TR1(2).
8.On the MCDU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "TR1" ("TR2)" indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The "TR1" ("TR2)" page comes into view.
To get access to the TR1(2) menu on the MCDU.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "RESET" indication.
On the MCDU:
  • The "NO FAULT" indication comes into view.
To do a reset of TR1(2).
To get the DC1(2) power supply again from TR1(2).
To make sure that the ECAM warning is not shown at this time.

On the SD, on the "ELEC" page:
  • TR1(2) energizes the DC1(2) busbar.
  • The ESS TR continues to energize the DC ESS busbar.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "TR1 FAULT" ("TR2 FAULT") warning goes out of view.
9.On panel 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 1XC and then close it.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The DC1 busbar energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To stop the ESS TR.
10.On panel 122VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 9PC.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The DC2 busbar energizes the DC BAT busbar (the DC1 busbar stops to energize the DC BAT busbar).
  • The ESS TR energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To apply force on contactor 1PC1 to open it.
To do a check of the DC BAT and DC ESS busbars and make sure that they are configured again correctly.
11.On control panel 122VU:
  • Close circuit breaker 9PC.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The DC1 busbar energizes the DC BAT busbar.
  • The ESS TR energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To put the circuit breaker back to its initial configuration.
To do a check of the DC BAT busbar supply from the DC1 busbar.
12.On panel 123VU:
  • Open circuit breaker 1XC and then close it.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The DC1 busbar energizes the DC ESS busbar.
To stop the ESS TR.

H. Test of the "DC EMER CONFIG" Warning

1.On panels 106VU and 49VU:
  • Open circuit breakers 68WV and 12WV.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "DC ESS" busbar indication comes into view in amber.
To do the DC EMER configuration.
To make sure that the ECAM warning is shown.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "DC EMER CONFIG" and "EMER ELEC PWR ... MAN ON" warnings come into view.
2.On panels 106VU and 49VU:
  • Close circuit breakers 68WV and 12WV.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The "DC ESS" busbar indication comes into view in green.
To put the circuit breakers back to their initial configuration.
To make sure that the ECAM warning is not shown at this time.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "DC EMER CONFIG" and "EMER ELEC PWR ... MAN ON" warnings go out of view.

I. Emergency Logic with the Batteries
ACTION
RESULT
FUNCTION OF THE TEST
1.Make sure that the voltage of batteries 1 and 2 is more than 25.5V.

To do a check of the two batteries and make sure that they have sufficient voltage to do the test that follows.
2.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the BAT1 pushbutton switch and then push it.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The green line between the DC BAT busbar and the "BAT1" indication comes into view.
  • The load current is < 150A then decreases.
  • The green line goes out of view when the load current is < 4A.
To do a charging cycle on BAT1.
3.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the BAT2 pushbutton switch and then push it.
On the lower ECAM DU, on the "ELEC" page:
  • The green line between the DC BAT busbar and the "BAT2" indication comes into view.
  • The load current is < 150A then decreases.
  • The green line goes out of view when the load current is < 4A.
To do a charging cycle on BAT2.
4.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the BAT1 and BAT2 pusbutton switches.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legends of the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches come on.
To disconnect the two batteries from the electrical network.
On EMER ELEC PWR control panel 21VU:
  • Push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.

To connect the Constant Speed Motor/Generator (CSM/G) to the emergency electrical network.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Release the BUS TIE pushbutton switch.

To disconnect the normal electrical network.
On the ECAM control panel
  • Push and hold the ELEC key.
Total loss of the normal electrical network.
On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The "AC ESS" and "DC ESS" busbar indications come into view in green.
  • The "SHED" indication comes into view below the "AC ESS" and "DC ESS" busbar indications.
  • The "STAT INV" indication comes into view in white.
  • The "STAT INV" parameters (115V and 400Hz) come into view in green.
To make sure that the normal electrical network is disconnected.
To make sure that the static inverter operates.
5.On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • Push the BUS TIE pushbutton switch.
  • Push the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches.

To connect the normal electrical network again and the batteries to the electrical network.
On EMER ELEC PWR control panel 21VU:
  • Release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
The normal electrical network is energized again.
On ELEC control panel 35VU:
  • The OFF legends of the BAT1 and BAT2 pushbutton switches go off.
To complete the test.
6.On the MCDU:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "RETURN" indication until the "CFDS" menu page comes into view.

To complete the test.

A. Put the Aircraft back to its initial Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
