BITE-Test of the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) through the CFDS

1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives the instructions necessary to do a reset and a BITE-test of the CIDS.

NOTE: For each LED cabin sign: If the test is not deactivated in the CAM, Class 3 fault messages will be recorded.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 23-73-00-860-086-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
(4) Energize the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-003).
(5) Make sure that at least one cabin door is open.

B. Make sure that the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL on the overhead panel 25VU is in the OFF position.

Subtask 23-73-00-740-053-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Do this test

1.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 49VU:
open the C/Bs DIR ESS/1 and DIR ESS/2 150RH and 157RH.
2.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 121VU:	In the cockpit, on the ECAM upper display:
open the C/Bs DIR NORM/1 and DIR NORM/2 151RH and 156RH.	the message COM CIDS 1+2 FAULT shows.

	On the Programming and Test Panel (PTP) 110RH: the message CIDS DEGRADATION shows.
NOTE: To show all of the message, you have to clear all other ECAM warnings. To clear all other ECAM warnings push the CLR pushbutton on the ECAM Control Panel (ECP), until all of the COM message shows.	In the cockpit: you hear a single chime.
3.In the cockpit, on the ECP: push the STS pushbutton.
	In the cockpit, on the lower ECAM display: the message INOP SYS CIDS shows.
4.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 121VU: after 10 seconds, close the C/Bs DIR NORM/1 and DIR NORM/2 151RH and 156RH.
5.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 49VU:	In the cockpit, on the upper and lower ECAM display:
close the C/Bs DIR ESS/1 and DIR ESS/2 150RH and 157RH.	all the CIDS FAULT messages go off.
NOTE: Wait 5 minutes before you start the next test step.	after 5 minutes, the CIDS CAUT light stays off.

	On the PTP: the SYSTEM STATUS page and the message CIDS OK shows.
6.On the MCDU:	On the MCDU:
push the MCDU MENU pushbutton.	the MCDU MENU page shows.
push the CFDS pushbutton.	the CFDS page shows.
push the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST pushbutton.	the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST page shows.
push the COM pushbutton.	the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST COM page shows.

In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 121VU:	In the cockpit, on the upper and lower ECAM display:
close the C/Bs DIR 1/BAT and DIR 2/BAT 147RH and 146RH.	all the CIDS FAULT messages go off.
NOTE: Wait 5 minutes before you start the next test step.	after 5 minutes, the CIDS CAUT light stays off.

5. Close-up
Subtask 23-73-00-860-088-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.

NOTE: If some reading lights do not operate after the test, switch off the reading lights at the FAP for approx. 10 sec. and than on again.

NOTE: If the NS signs in a Non Smoker A/C configuration do not come on, set the NS switch 190RH to the AUTO or ON position and than back again.

(1) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
