BITE-Test of the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) through the PTP

1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives the instructions necessary to do a reset and BITE-test of the CIDS.

NOTE: For each LED cabin sign: If the test is not deactivated in the CAM, Class 3 fault messages will be recorded.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 23-73-00-860-083-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
(3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that a minimum of one cabin door is open.

B. Make sure that the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL on the overhead panel 25VU is in the OFF position.

Subtask 23-73-00-740-051-G ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Do this test

ACTION	RESULT
1.On the C/B panel 49VU:
open the C/Bs DIR ESS/1 and DIR ESS/2 150RH and 157RH.
2.On the C/B panel 121VU:	On the Forward Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH:
open the C/Bs DIR NORM/1 and DIR NORM/2 151RH and 156RH.	the CIDS CAUT light comes on.
	On the PTP 110RH: the message CIDS DEGRADATION comes on.
	In the cockpit on the UPPER ECAM DISPLAY: the message COM CIDS 1+2 FAULT comes on. NOTE: To show all of the message, you have to clear all other ECAM warnings. To clear all other ECAM warnings push the CLR pushbutton on the ECAM Control-Panel (ECP), until all of the COM message appears.
	Through the cockpit loudspeaker: a single chime is heard.
3.On the ECAM Control-Panel (ECP): push the STS pushbutton.	On the LOWER ECAM DISPLAY: the message INOP SYS CIDS comes on.
4.On the C/B panel 121VU: after approx. 10 s close the C/Bs DIR NORM/1 and DIR NORM/2 151RH and 156RH:
5.On the C/B panel 49VU:
close the C/Bs DIR ESS/1 and DIR ESS/2 150RH and 157RH:	the CIDS CAUT light goes off. NOTE: Wait approx. 5 min before you start the next test step.
	after approx. 5 min the CIDS CAUT light is still off.
	In the cockpit on the UPPER and LOWER ECAM DISPLAY: all CIDS FAULT messages are off.
6.On the Programming and Test Panel (PTP) 110RH:	On the PTP 110RH:
push the DSPL ON membrane switch.	the CIDS menu page comes on.
push the SYSTEM STATUS related membrane switch.	the SYSTEM STATUS page comes on with system OK messages.
push the CONT related membrane switch until the < MAINTENANCE message comes on.	the next system status related pages with system OK messages come on.
push the MAINTENANCE related membrane switch.	the MAINTENANCE page comes on.
push the CONT related membrane switch until the < GND SCAN message comes on.
push the GND SCAN related membrane switch.	the GND SCAN page with the NO FAILURE message comes on.
push the RET related membrane switch until the SYSTEM STATUS page comes on.	the SYSTEM STATUS page comes on.
push the CONT related membrane switch until the < MAINTENANCE message comes on.
push the MAINTENANCE related membrane switch.	the MAINTENANCE page comes on.

5. Close-up
Subtask 23-73-00-860-084-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.

NOTE: If some reading lights are not operational after the test:

set the reading lights on the FAP to off for approx. 10 seconds and than set the reading lights on again.

NOTE: If the NS signs in a Non Smoker A/C configuration do not come on:

set the NS switch to the AUTO or ON position and than back again.

(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(2) De-energize the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-003).
(3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
