Installation of the Lube Trim Check Valve

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Make sure that the left thrust reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure
Subtask 79-21-13-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Lube Trim Check Valve
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Install the lube trim check valve (6) on the Variable Oil Reduction Valve (VORV) manifold and tube (LR36) (5) as follows: See the figure.
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.P06-053) to the new EIPC 79-21-13-01-130 PACKING (1) and EIPC 79-21-13-01-080 SEAL (3).
     (b) Install the new packing (1) to the lube trim check valve (6).
     (c) Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.
P06-054) to the threads of the three bolts (2) and (4).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (d) Install the lube trim check valve (6) to the VORV manifold with the three bolts (2).
     (e) TORQUE the three bolts (2) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN ) T.
     (f) Install the seal (3) and tube (LR36) (5) to the lube trim check valve (6) with the three bolts (4).
     (g) TORQUE the three bolts (4) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
T.
     (h) Install the tube (LR36) (5) to the tube (LR37) B-nut.
     (i) Tighten the tube (LR37).
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
       1 TORQUE the tube (LR37) to between 1050 and 950 lbf.in (11.87 and 10.74 m.daN )
T.
   (3) Fill the oil (
Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-610-801).
   (4) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the left thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
