C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the left thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 79-21-08-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fuel/Oil Heat Exchanger
   (1) Removal of the protection covers.
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Attach the fuel/oil heat exchanger (1) to the fuel/oil manifold as follows:
F Fuel/Oil Heat Exchanger ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Examine the current face seal (2) for serviceability as follows:
       1 Raised material on the metal surface is not permitted.
       2 Rubber that is not bonded to the seal plate is not permitted.
       3 Rubber that is missing is not permitted.
       4 Examine the rubber seal for separation from the seal plate.
       5 Rubber that is cut or damaged is not permitted.
       6 Make sure that the rubber material is above the metal surface.
     (b) Attach the EIPC 79-21-08-01-090 FACE SEAL (2) to the fuel/oil manifold with the two bolts (4) and washers (3) finger-tight.
     (c) Install the heat exchanger (1) on the manifold with the eight bolts (5).
     (d) TORQUE the eight bolts (5) and the two bolts (4) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
T equally in an opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds.
   (3) Fill the engine with oil (
Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-610-801).
   (4) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
   (5) Installation of the protection covers.
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the left thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
