A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 79-21-05-010-060-A (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

A. Do a visual inspection of the oil filter element for contamination.
(1) Remove the oil filter cartridge (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-05-000-803).
(2) Examine the lubrication unit inner wall of the oil filter housing.
(3) Examine the removed oil filter element as follows:
(a) Take the filter element in both hands and put two pleats apart to show the contaminants at the bottom of these pleats. Do this at several location round the cartridge.
(4) If there is any findings:
(a) Perform oil debris monitoring system inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 79-36-00-220-801).
(b) Perform scavenge screen inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-200-806).
(c) Perform air turbine starter inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-05-210-801).
(d) Apply oil particle analysis (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-281-805).
Subtask 79-21-05-420-056-A 5. Close-up(1) Remove the oil filter cartridge (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-05-000-803).
(2) Examine the lubrication unit inner wall of the oil filter housing.

CAUTION:
TAG THE REMOVED PARTICLES WITH THE OIL FILTER CARTRIDGE NAME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THERE IS A RISK THAT:
- THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE SOURCE OF THE MATERIAL WILL BE INCORRECT DURING THE VISUAL INSPECTION AND LABORATORY ANALYSIS
- THE INTERPRETATION OF THE RESULTS IN RELATION TO THE SERVICEABLE CRITERIA WILL NOT BE ACCURATE, AND
- DAMAGE WILL OCCUR.
(5) If an oil filter impending or actual by-pass faults is triggered on the concerned engine, do not discard the oil filter and place it on hold as it could be requested for investigation by CFM.Subtask 79-21-05-410-056-A
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
