Installation of the Oil Filter Cartridge
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 79-21-05-010-053-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

A. Installation of the Oil Filter Cartridge (1)
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(5) Install the new O-ring (8) in the groove of the oil filter cartridge (1).
(6) Install the equipped oil filter cartridge (1) on the oil filter cover (6).
(b) Make sure that the oil filter cover rib (11) is not in front of an oil filter cartridge lobe (12).
(7) Lubricate the new EIPC 79-21-05-05-100 O-RING (9) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(9) Install the drain plug (10) in correct position in the oil filter cover (6).
(10) Tighten the drain plug (10) by hand and stop when you feel a counter torque.
(11) Do a check of the correct installation of the oil filter cartridge (1).
(a) Turn the oil filter cartridge (1) clockwise and counter-clockwise.

(13) Safety the drain plug
CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. .
(14) Install the oil filter cover (6) assembled with the oil filter cartridge (1) in correct position in the lubrication unit (2).
(15) Lightly coat bolts (4) and (5) threads and pressure faces with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(17) Install the two bolts (4) and the two nuts (3) to attach the oil filter cover (6) on the lubrication unit (2) and tighten by hand.
(18) TORQUE the two bolts (5) and the two nuts (3) to between 74.3 and 67.3 lbf.in (0.84 and 0.76 m.daN )

5. Close-up(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
(3) Lubricate the new EIPC 79-21-05-05-060 O-RING (7) and the new EIPC 79-21-05-05-080 O-RING (8) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) . CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE O-RINGS CORRECTLY DURING THE INSTALLATION OF THE FILTER ELEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE O-RINGS CORRECTLY, OIL LOSS CAN OCCUR DURING ENGINE OPERATION AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(4) Install the new O-ring (7) in the groove of the oil filter cover (6). (5) Install the new O-ring (8) in the groove of the oil filter cartridge (1).
(6) Install the equipped oil filter cartridge (1) on the oil filter cover (6).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU CORRECTLY INSTALL THE OIL-FILTER COVER RIB BETWEEN THE TWO LOBES OF THE OIL FILTER CARTRIDGE. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE IMPORTANT OIL LEAKAGE DURING ENGINE OPERATION WITH POSSIBLE IN-FLIGHT SHUTDOWN AND ENGINE FAILURE.
(a) Install the equipped oil filter cartridge (1) on the oil filter cover (6) with the oil filter cover rib (11) correctly located between two lobes (12) of the oil filter cartridge (1). (b) Make sure that the oil filter cover rib (11) is not in front of an oil filter cartridge lobe (12).
(7) Lubricate the new EIPC 79-21-05-05-100 O-RING (9) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
CAUTION:
DO NOT INSTALL THE DRAIN PLUG WITHOUT AN O-RING. THE INSTALLATION OF A DRAIN PLUG WITHOUT AN O-RING CAN CAUSE OIL OR FUEL LEAKAGE DURING ENGINE OPERATION AND A POSSIBLE ENGINE SHUTDOWN.
(8) Install the new O-ring (9) in the groove of the drain plug (10). (9) Install the drain plug (10) in correct position in the oil filter cover (6).
(10) Tighten the drain plug (10) by hand and stop when you feel a counter torque.
(11) Do a check of the correct installation of the oil filter cartridge (1).
(a) Turn the oil filter cartridge (1) clockwise and counter-clockwise.
NOTE: The oil filter cartridge must turn freely between the two oil cartridge lobes (12) and you must feel the oil filter cartridge lobes (12) stopping against the oil filter cover rib (11).
(12) TORQUE the drain plug (10) to between 74.3 and 67.3 lbf.in (0.84 and 0.76 m.daN )

WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Safety the drain plug (10) with the (14) Install the oil filter cover (6) assembled with the oil filter cartridge (1) in correct position in the lubrication unit (2).
(15) Lightly coat bolts (4) and (5) threads and pressure faces with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE BOLTS WITH THE CORRECT LENGTH IN THE BLIND HOLES OF THE LUBRICATION UNIT. IF YOU USE BOLTS THAT ARE TOO LONG, DAMAGE TO THE INTERNAL THREADS OF THE LUBRICATION UNIT CAN OCCUR.
(16) Install the two bolts (5) to attach the oil filter cover (6) on the lubrication unit (2) and tighten by hand. (17) Install the two bolts (4) and the two nuts (3) to attach the oil filter cover (6) on the lubrication unit (2) and tighten by hand.
(18) TORQUE the two bolts (5) and the two nuts (3) to between 74.3 and 67.3 lbf.in (0.84 and 0.76 m.daN )

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
