A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

Subtask 78-32-62-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the Thermal Blankets
NOTE: This procedure is given for one thermal blanket (1). It is also applicable to the other thermal blankets (2) thru (19).
NOTE: If necessary, clean the thermal blanket (1) with a textile - lint free cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with diestone DLS (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the thermal blanket (1) for:
  • Dent
  • Perforation
  • Incorrect installation
  • Bent edges.
   (2) If you find damage (dents or perforation) NSRM 543061.
   (3) If you find incorrect installation and/or bent edges, re-install or replace the thermal blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-62-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-62-400-801).
Subtask 78-32-62-210-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the Thermal Blankets
NOTE: This procedure is given for one thermal blanket (1). It is also applicable to the other thermal blankets (2) thru (15).
NOTE: If necessary, clean the thermal blanket (1) with a textile - lint free cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with diestone DLS (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the thermal blanket (1) for:
  • Dent
  • Perforation
  • Incorrect installation
  • Bent edges.
   (2) If you find damage (dents or perforation) NSRM 543061.
   (3) If you find incorrect installation and/or bent edges, re-install or replace the thermal blanket (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-62-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-62-400-801).

B. GVI of the Fire Shields
NOTE: This procedure is given for one fire shield (1). It is also applicable to the other fire shields (2) thru (20), (27) thru (35) and (42) thru (49).
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the fire shield (1) for:
  • Nicks
  • Cracks
  • Scratches
  • Gouges
  • Missing fasteners.
   (2) If you find damage (nicks, scratches and gouges) NSRM 543061.
   (3) If you find cracks or missing fasteners, contact SAFRAN Nacelles.

C. GVI of the Fire Shields
NOTE: This procedure is given for one fire shield (21). It is also applicable to the other fire shields (21) thru (26) and (36) thru (41).
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the fire shield (21) for:
  • Nicks
  • Cracks
  • Scratches
  • Gouges
  • Missing fasteners.
   (2) If you find damage (nicks, scratches and gouges) NSRM 543056.
   (3) If you find cracks or missing fasteners, contact SAFRAN Nacelles.

D. GVI of the Inner-Fixed Structure-Fire Seals
NOTE: If necessary, clean the inner-fixed structure-fire seals (1) and (2) with textile - lint free cotton (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with diestone DLS (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the inner-fixed structure-fire seal (1) for:
NOTE: This procedure is given for the one fire seal (1). It is also applicable to the fire seal (21).
  • Damage
  • Tear
  • Cracks
  • Wear
  • Missing part.
     (a)      (b) If damage is in the allowable damage limits, apply silicone adhesive sealant-high temp. area one part paste (Material No.CPNCL00963) on the damaged area to restore the inner-fixed structure seal (1) shape.
       1 The inner-fixed structure seal (1) must be replaced at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
     (c) If the damage is above the allowable damage limits, replace the inner-fixed structure seal (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-65-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-65-400-802).
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the inner-fixed structure-fire seal (2) for:
NOTE: This procedure is given for the one fire seal (2). It is also applicable to the other fire seals (3) thru (20) and (22) thru (37).
  • Damage
  • Tear
  • Cracks
  • Wear
  • Missing part.
     (a) If you find damage, replace the inner-fixed structure seal (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-65-000-802) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-65-400-802).
