A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-65-020-051-A
A. Removal of the Inner-Fixed Structure Seals
   (1) Removal of the left hand side beaver tail seal front 12 o'clock (22) and right hand side beaver tail seal front 12 o'clock (38):
NOTE: This procedure is applicable for the left hand side beaver tail seal front 12 o'clock (22). It is same for the right hand side beaver tail seal front 12 o'clock (38).
     (a) Make a temporary template to record the position of the left hand side beaver tail seal front 12 o'clock (22) from its support.
     (b) Remove and discard the left hand side beaver tail seal front 12 o'clock (22) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (c) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (2) Removal of the left hand side beaver tail seal aft 12 o'clock (21) and right hand side beaver tail seal aft 12 o'clock (37):
NOTE: This procedure is applicable for the left hand side beaver tail seal aft 12 o'clock (21). It is same for the right hand side beaver tail seal aft 12 o'clock (37).
     (a) Make a temporary template to record the position of the left hand side beaver tail seal aft 12 o'clock (21) from its support.
     (b) Remove and discard the left hand side beaver tail seal aft 12 o'clock (21) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (c) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (3) Removal of the left hand side aft fairing seal (19) and right hand side aft fairing seal (36):
NOTE: This procedure is applicable for the left hand side aft fairing seal (19). It is same for the right hand side aft fairing seal (36).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side aft fairing seal (19) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (4) Removal of the left hand side forward fairing seals (17) and (18):
NOTE: This procedure is applicable for the left hand side forward fairing seals (17) and (18) only on the left thrust reverser.
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side forward fairing seals (17) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (5) Removal of the left hand side L3 lap block seal (16):
NOTE: This procedure is applicable only for the left hand side L3 lap block seal (16) on the left thrust reverser.
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side L3 lap block seal (16) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (6) Removal of the left hand side aft 6 o'clock aft seal (15):
NOTE: This procedure is applicable only for the left hand side aft 6 o'clock aft seal (15) on the left thrust reverser.
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side aft 6 o'clock aft seal (15) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (7) Removal of the left hand side front 6 o'clock aft seal (14):
NOTE: This procedure is applicable only for the left hand side front 6 o'clock aft seal (14) on the left thrust reverser.
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side front 6 o'clock aft seal (14) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (8) Removal of the left hand side front 6 o'clock seal (13) and the right hand side front 6 o'clock seal (35):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side front 6 o'clock seal (13). It is same for the right hand side front 6 o'clock seal (35).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side front 6 o'clock seal (13) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (9) Removal of the left hand side V-blade 12 o'clock seal (12) and the right hand side V-blade 12 o'clock seal (34):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side V-blade 12 o'clock seal (12). It is same for the right hand side V-blade 12 o'clock seal (34).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side V-blade 12 o'clock seal (12) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (10) Removal of the left hand side coat hanger 12 o'clock seal (11) and the right hand side coat hanger 12 o'clock seal (33):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side coat hanger 12 o'clock seal (11). It is same for the right hand side coat hanger 12 o'clock seal (33).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side coat hanger 12 o'clock seal (11) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (11) Removal of the left hand side upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (10) and the right hand side upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (32):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (10). It is same for the right hand side upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (32).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (10) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.

PRE SPOL BD-TR-18031

   (12) Removal of the left hand side barrel seal (9) and the right hand barrel seal (31):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side barrel seal (9). It is same for the right hand side barrel seal (31).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side barrel seal (9) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (13) Removal of the left hand side lower barrel 6 o'clock seal (8) and the right hand side lower barrel 6 o'clock seal (30):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side lower barrel 6 o'clock seal (8). It is same for the right hand side lower barrel 6 o'clock seal (30).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side lower barrel 6 o'clock seal (8) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.

   (14) Removal of the merged barrel left hand side seal (39) and the merged barrel right hand side seal (40):

     (a) Remove and discard the merged barrel left hand side seal (39) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.

   (15) Removal of the left hand side lower bifi 6 o'clock seal (7) and the right hand side lower bifi 6 o'clock seal (29):

     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side lower bifi 6 o'clock seal (7) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.

   (16) Removal of the left hand side front pylon seal (6) and the right hand side front pylon seal (28):

     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side front pylon seal (6) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.

   (17) Removal of the left hand side aft pylon seal (5) and the right hand side aft pylon seal (27):

     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side aft pylon seal (5) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.

   (18) Removal of the left hand side tripod 6 o'clock seal (4) and the right hand side tripod 6 o'clock seal (26):

     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side tripod 6 o'clock seal (4) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.

   (20) Removal of the left hand side tripod upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (2) and the right hand side tripod upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (24):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side tripod upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (2). It is same for the right hand side tripod upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (24).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side tripod upper bifi 12 o'clock seal (2) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
   (21) Removal of the left hand side V-groove 6 o'clock block seal (1) and the right hand side V-groove 6 o'clock block seal (23):
NOTE: This procedure is given for the left hand side V-groove 6 o'clock block seal (1). It is same for the right hand side V-groove 6 o'clock block seal (23).
     (a) Remove and discard the left hand side V-groove 6 o'clock block seal (1) from its support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
     (b) Remove silicon adhesive sealant RTV106 (Material No.CPNCL00963) from the support with the SPATULA - PLASTIC.
