C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
Subtask 78-32-43-010-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the left thrust reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that the lower forward barrel blanket from the lower inner structure of the left thrust reverser door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-803).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the left thrust reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Make sure that the lower forward barrel blanket from the lower inner structure of the left thrust reverser door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-000-803).
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-32-43-420-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the bifurcation latch system handle assembly and receiver assembly on the left thrust reverser door.
(1) Removal of protection covers
(2) Install the receiver assembly (7) with the bolt (8), washer (9), bushing (10) and nut (11).
(3) TORQUE the nut (11) to between 1360 and 1190 lbf.in (15.37 and 13.45 m.daN )
.
(4) Mix thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803), PU4-0004A curing solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
(5) Apply thePU4-0002 epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803), mixture to the two shims (4) and shanks of the four bolts (3). Let the primer dry to touch.
(6) Attach the handle assembly (6) to the bifurcation latch receiver assembly (7).
(7) Install the two shims (4), the handle assembly (6) and the bifurcation latch system panel (5) to the latch beam with the four bolts (3).
(8) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 50 and 45 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.51 m.daN )
.
(9) Install the ground strap to the handle assembly (6) as follows:
(a) Clean the bolt (1), washer (2) and the mating surface of the handle assembly with the clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and thePU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl .
(b) Remove thePU2-0001 alcohol, isopropyl with the clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
(c) Attach the ground strap lug to the handle assembly (6) with the bolt (1) and washer (2).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (1) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
.
(e) Measure the resistance between the ground strap and the ground strap fasteners. Make sure it is less than 0.005 ohm.
(10) If the resistance is more than 0.005 ohm, remove the hardware and repeat steps 4.A.(9)(a). thru 4.A.(9)(e).
5. Close-up(1) Removal of protection covers
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Install the receiver assembly (7) with the bolt (8), washer (9), bushing (10) and nut (11).
(3) TORQUE the nut (11) to between 1360 and 1190 lbf.in (15.37 and 13.45 m.daN )

(7) Install the two shims (4), the handle assembly (6) and the bifurcation latch system panel (5) to the latch beam with the four bolts (3).
(8) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 50 and 45 lbf.in (0.57 and 0.51 m.daN )
. (9) Install the ground strap to the handle assembly (6) as follows:
(a) Clean the bolt (1), washer (2) and the mating surface of the handle assembly with the clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and the

(c) Attach the ground strap lug to the handle assembly (6) with the bolt (1) and washer (2).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (1) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
. (e) Measure the resistance between the ground strap and the ground strap fasteners. Make sure it is less than 0.005 ohm.
(10) If the resistance is more than 0.005 ohm, remove the hardware and repeat steps 4.A.(9)(a). thru 4.A.(9)(e).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the forward barrel blanket on the lower inner structure of the left thrust reverser door. (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-400-803)
(3) Close the left thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
