B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Manually extend the thrust-reverser translating sleeves sufficiently to gain access to the drag links (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-802).
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

A. General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the Thrust Reverser Blocker Door Drag Links
   (1) Do not discard a part until you are sure there are no repairs available. If you reject a part and no repair is available, contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
   (2) Clean the surfaces of the drag links and attaching hardware with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Remove the alcohol with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the alcohol becomes dry.
   (3) Examine the blocker door drag links.
     (a) Look for cracks, holes, punctures, gouges, corrosion and other damage.
     (b) If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
   (4) Examine the T-bolt and cap on the drag link fitting on the inner fixed structure. Examine the bolt, washers and nut on the blocker door end of the drag link.
     (a) Look for cracks, gouges, wear, corrosion, missing parts or other damage.
     (b) If you find damage, replace the damaged or missing part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-400-801).
   (5) Examine the bearings on the drag links.
     (a) Look for dents, wear, corrosion, scratches, cracks, gouges, liner migration or other damage.
     (b) If you find damage, replace the drag link (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Manually retract the thrust-reverser translating sleeves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-860-803).

B. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).
