5. Close-upWARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WORK ON THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS CAN BE DANGEROUS.
WARNING:
YOU MUST NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN BE ABSORBED INTO YOUR BODY. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR ON YOUR SKIN, FLUSH WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT- FREE CLOTH. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND SOME PARTS.
(1) If you are replacing the filter (4) because the filter is clogged, make sure that you can see the red band on the filter module pop-out indicator. See Fig 1, view E. NOTE: The pop-out indicator deploys when the filter (4) is clogged and needs replacing.
(2) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) below the filter module to collect the hydraulic fluid that possibly can spill. (3) Pull out the locking pin about 0.08 in. (2.03 mm) from the filter module so that you can see the red band.
(4) Remove the filter bowl:
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE FILTER BOWL. IT HAS A SPRING RETAINER WHICH PUTS A LOAD ON IT. IF YOU RELEASE YOUR PRESSURE ON THE FILTER BOWL WHILE YOU REMOVE IT, INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Turn the filter bowl (1) until you remove the filter bowl (1) from the filter module. Use the WRENCH - STRAP. (5) Pull the locking pin out further, if necessary, until the filter bowl (1) is away from the locking pin.
