A. Safety Precautions
(2) Make sure that the 98F10103500000 CHOCK-MLG,ENGINE RUN-UP are in position in front of each forward outboard MLG wheel.
(3) Make sure that there is a minimum 6614 lb (3000 kg) of fuel in the inner to make sure that the aircraft is stable during the test.
(5) If the aircraft begins to move while performing an engine run, immediately set all the thrust levers to the idle position.
Subtask 77-32-34-861-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 77-32-34-869-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 4. ProcedureCAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS PARKED ON A CLEAN, DRY AND FLAT SURFACE. THERE MUST BE NO OIL, GREASE OR SIMILAR MATERIALS ON THE SURFACE. THE PAVEMENT MUST NOT BE BROKEN OR LOOSE, AND WE RECOMMEND CONCRETE MATERIAL BECAUSE ASPHALT CAN MELT AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) Obey the wind limitations and safety precautions during engine ground operation (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-869-005) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-869-006).
NOTE: This minimum fuel quantity does not include the fuel consumption of the engines necessary to do the test. This minimum quantity must stay in the inner tank at the end of the test.
(4) There must be two qualified persons in the cockpit when performing an engine run. One must monitor the outside and the aircraft behavior while the other performs the engine test. (5) If the aircraft begins to move while performing an engine run, immediately set all the thrust levers to the idle position.
Subtask 77-32-34-869-097-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Start the two engines and let them become stable at minimum idle for 5 minutes (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003).
(1) If the flight number is entered through the MCDU before the run-up (PFR available at the end of the run-up), during the 5 minutes, refer to the 4 steps that follow to get the CFDS menu on the MCDU (B.,C.(1),C.(2),C.(3)).
Subtask 77-32-34-865-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If the flight number is entered through the MCDU before the run-up (PFR available at the end of the run-up), during the 5 minutes, refer to the 4 steps that follow to get the CFDS menu on the MCDU (B.,C.(1),C.(2),C.(3)).
NOTE: If a flight number is not entered go to step (C.(4)).
B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Unbalance Acquisition on the Ground
(1) After some seconds close the circuit breakers 2TW and 8TW.
(2) You can get access to the CFDS menu after some seconds.
(3) Close the circuit breaker 3WW.
(c) On RUD TRIM/PARKING BRK panel 110VU:
(6) On MCDU1(2), get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST ENG page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-012).
(7) Push the line key adjacent to the EVMU indication: the first EVMU page comes into view. Push the NEXT page key.
(8) Decrease the power of the two engines to minimum idle.
(9) Put the aircraft in the "parking-brake applied" configuration:
(a) On RUD TRIM PARKING BRK panel 110VU:
(10) Let the engine become stable for 5 minutes then stop the engines (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).
(11) Close circuit breaker 2WW if the flight number is entered.
Subtask 77-32-34-860-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 5. Close-up(1) After some seconds close the circuit breakers 2TW and 8TW.
(2) You can get access to the CFDS menu after some seconds.
(3) Close the circuit breaker 3WW.
NOTE: When you are in ENG VIBRATION MENU mode, vibration indications on the ECAM are not shown (amber crosses).
(4) If N1 target will be more than or equal to 75 percent, use the brake pedals: CAUTION:
DO NOT OPEN LGCIU CIRCUIT BREAKERS 1GA, 2GA AND 52GA. IF YOU DO THIS, AIRCRAFT BRAKING THROUGH BRAKE PEDALS DOES NOT OPERATE.
(a) On the landing gear control and indicating panel 402VU: - Make sure that the A/SKID & N/WSTRG selector switch 5GG is ON.
- Make sure that the PARKING BRAKE control switch is in ON position.
(c) On RUD TRIM/PARKING BRK panel 110VU:
- Set the PARKING BRAKE control switch to OFF.
(6) On MCDU1(2), get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST ENG page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-012).
(7) Push the line key adjacent to the EVMU indication: the first EVMU page comes into view. Push the NEXT page key.
| ACTION | RESULT |
|---|---|
| 1.Push the line key adjacent to the ENGINE UNBALANCE indication. |
|
| 2.Push ENG1(2) GROUND ACQN indication. |
|
| 3.Increase the engine speed to the desired N1 levels: 64 percent, 84 percent, 88 percent, 92 percent and 96 percent. When the engine speed is stabilized push the line key adjacent to the SAVE indication. |
|
NOTE: It is important to wait the engine speed stabilization before saving. It is better to not record a point than to record a new balance with a phase value too much instable. | |
NOTE: 96 percent N1 is a value difficult to reach on ground. | |
| 4.When you want to stop the acquisition, push the line key adjacent to the READ indication. |
|
| 5.On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view. | |
| 6.Stop the MCDU. | |
(9) Put the aircraft in the "parking-brake applied" configuration:
(a) On RUD TRIM PARKING BRK panel 110VU:
- Set the parking brake control switch to ON.
(10) Let the engine become stable for 5 minutes then stop the engines (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).
(11) Close circuit breaker 2WW if the flight number is entered.
