Subtask 73-21-60-941-078-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-60-420-068-A
A. Installation of the HJ8A engine wiring harness (4158KS)
   (1) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from all the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
   (2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE HARNESS ORIENTATION AND POSITION IN THE CLAMPS GIVE THE MAXIMUM CLEARANCES WITH THE OTHER ENGINE PARTS. IF A CLEARANCE IS NOT SUFFICIENT, HARNESS CHAFING AND WEAR CAN OCCUR.
   (3) Install the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) in the correct position in the 38 clips (3) along its routing.
   (4) Install the new EIPC 72-00-00-15-070 FIREPROOF BLOCK (49).
   (5) Installation of the bracket assemblies:
     (a) Installation of the bracket assembly (43):
       1 Install the four bolts (44) and the four nuts (50) to attach the bracket assembly (43) on the fireproof block (49) and bracket (47) and tighten them with your hand.
       2 TORQUE the four nuts (50) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
T.
     (b) Installation of the bracket assembly (46):
       1 Install the five bolts (45) and the five nuts (48) to attach the bracket assembly (46) on the fireproof block (49) and bracket (47) and tighten them with your hand.
       2 TORQUE the five nuts (48) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
T.
   (6) Apply the RTV 106 (Material No.
CP2267) around the engine wiring harnesses SPM 706612.
   (7) Installation of the bolts on the clamps to attach the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1):
     (a) Install the bolt (41) on the clamp (42) and tighten it with your hand.
     (b) TORQUE the bolt (41) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN ) T.
     (c) Install the bolt (37) on the clamp (36) and tighten it with your hand.
     (d) TORQUE the bolt (37) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Install the bolt (25) on the clamp (28) and tighten it with your hand.
     (f) TORQUE the bolt (25) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (g) Install the bolt (26) on the clamp (27) and tighten it with your hand.
     (h) TORQUE the bolt (26) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (i) Install the bolt (30) on the clamp (31) and tighten it with your hand.
     (j) TORQUE the bolt (30) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (k) Install the bolt (29) on the clamp (32) and tighten it with your hand.
     (l) TORQUE the bolt (29) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (m) Install the bolt (20) on the clamp (21) and tighten it with your hand.
     (n) TORQUE the bolt (20) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (o) Install the bolt (19) on the clamp (22) and tighten it with your hand.
     (p) TORQUE the bolt (19) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (q) Install the bolt (17) on the clamp (18) and tighten it with your hand.
     (r) TORQUE the bolt (17) to between 36.75 and 33.25 lbf.in (0.42 and 0.38 m.daN )
T.
     (s) Install the bolt (16) on the clamp (15) and tighten it with your hand.
     (t) TORQUE the bolt (16) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
T.
     (u) Install the bolt (6) on the clamp (7) and tighten it with your hand.
     (v) TORQUE the bolt (6) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
T.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: YOU MUST NOT USE PLIERS WITH METAL JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE CONNECTOR. THE METAL JAWS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CONNECTOR.
   (8) Connection of the HJ8A engine wiring harness (4158KS) (1) connectors to these receptacles.
NOTE: Only if necessary, use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to connect the electrical connectors.
     (a) Connect the connector socket (8) to the HJ8B engine wiring harness connector (11) (at the 3 o'clock position).
     (b) Install the two bolts (10) to attach the connector socket (8) on the bracket (9) and tighten them with your hand.
     (c) TORQUE the two bolts (10) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
T.
     (d) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector to the fuel temperature transducer (4910KS) (40) (at the 3:30 o'clock position).
     (e) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P88A to the T48 harness (left) receptacle J88A (4168KS) (39) (at the 2:30 o'clock position).
     (f) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P810A to the turbine center frame accelerometer receptacle J810A (4187KS) (38) (at the 3 o'clock position).
     (g) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P87A to the T3 sensor channel A (4084KS1) (35) (at the 8:30 o'clock position).
     (h) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P84 to the LP turbine Active Clearance Control (ACC) (4162KS) (34) (at the 8:30 o'clock position).
     (i) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P85 to the HP turbine ACC (4025KS) (33) (at the 11 o'clock position).
     (j) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P83 to the start bleed valve (4161KS) (23) (at the 3 o'clock position).
     (k) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P86 to the transient bleed valve (4164KS) (24) (at the 3 o'clock position).
     (l) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P811A to the fan overheat temperature sensor 2 channel A receptacle (4250KS2) (14) (at the 6 o'clock position).
     (m) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P81A to the FRV channel A receptacle (4018KS) (13) (at the 10 o'clock position).
     (n) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P80A to the fan overheat temperature sensor 1 channel A receptacle (4250KS1) (12) (at the 12 o'clock position).
     (o) Connect the HJ8A engine wiring harness (1) connector P8A to the EEC channel A J8 receptacle (4601KS1) (5) (at the 2 o'clock position).
     (p) Tighten the electrical harness connectors until you cannot see the color marks on the receptacles.
     (q) Make sure that the electrical harness connectors do not move after you fully engage them.
   (9) Install the segment shroud 5 (4) (
Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-400-801).
   (10) Install the segment shroud 2 (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-400-801).

   (1) Do the FADEC test (Menu Mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-802).
