A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-24-20-010-050-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 72-24-20-010-051-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

A. Removal of the Outlet Guide Vane (OGV)
(1) Identify the OGV (1), the fan frame module segment shrouds (3) and the strut panels (14).
(2) Remove the OGV (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the Engine Surface Air Cooling Oil Cooler (SACOC) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-30-000-802).
(b) Remove flowpath panels 1 to 4 (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-09-000-801).
(c) Remove the OGV platform (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-11-000-801).
(d) Remove one OGV as follows:
2 Remove the required strut panels (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-000-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-000-802) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-000-803).
3 Remove and examine the two inter OGV seals (13).
4 Remove the two bolts (9) and the two bolts (16) that attach the OGV (1) with the two OGV shims (11) and (15) to the fan case (12).

5 Removal of the RTV:

6 Remove and discard the OGV plug (17).
7 Removal of the RTV:
END OF POST SB 72-0235
8 Remove the two bolts (7) that attach the OGV (1) to the fan hub (6).
9 Remove the two bolts (4) and the two washers (5) that attach the OGV (1) to the fan hub (6).
10 Remove the two OGV shims (11) and (15) from the OGV (1).
11 Carefully move the OGV (1) backward to disengage it from the fan hub (6).
12 Remove the OGV (1) from the engine.
(e) Follow step (2) (d) to remove the remaining OGVs (1).
(1) Identify the OGV (1), the fan frame module segment shrouds (3) and the strut panels (14).
(2) Remove the OGV (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the Engine Surface Air Cooling Oil Cooler (SACOC) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-30-000-802).
(b) Remove flowpath panels 1 to 4 (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-09-000-801).
(c) Remove the OGV platform (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-11-000-801).
(d) Remove one OGV as follows:
CAUTION:
YOU MUST REMOVE ONLY ONE OULET GUIDE VANE AT A TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
1 Remove the required segment shroud (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-01-000-801). 2 Remove the required strut panels (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-000-801) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-000-802) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-24-03-000-803).
3 Remove and examine the two inter OGV seals (13).
4 Remove the two bolts (9) and the two bolts (16) that attach the OGV (1) with the two OGV shims (11) and (15) to the fan case (12).

5 Removal of the RTV:
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE SHARP OR POINTED TOOLS. THESE TOOLS CAN CAUSE AN INJURY TO YOU.
a Remove the RTV103 that fills the holes of the two bolts (7). END OF PRE SB 72-0235
POST SB 72-0235
6 Remove and discard the OGV plug (17).
7 Removal of the RTV:
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE SHARP OR POINTED TOOLS. THESE TOOLS CAN CAUSE AN INJURY TO YOU.
a Remove remaining RTV103 from the heads of the two bolts (7). END OF POST SB 72-0235
8 Remove the two bolts (7) that attach the OGV (1) to the fan hub (6).
9 Remove the two bolts (4) and the two washers (5) that attach the OGV (1) to the fan hub (6).
10 Remove the two OGV shims (11) and (15) from the OGV (1).
11 Carefully move the OGV (1) backward to disengage it from the fan hub (6).
12 Remove the OGV (1) from the engine.
(e) Follow step (2) (d) to remove the remaining OGVs (1).
Outlet Guide Vane (OGV)
