A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-24-03-010-050-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

A. Removal of Strut 1 (1)
(1) Removal of the strut 1 fairing (right) (2):
(a) Remove the four screws (4) that attach the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 pad (right) (3).
(b) Remove the screw (6) that attaches the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 removable support (5).
(c) Remove the three screws (8) that attach the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(d) Remove the three screws (10) that attach the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 outer fitting (9).
(e) Remove the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) from the engine.
(2) Removal of the strut 1 fairing (left) (11):
(a) Remove the four screws (13) that attach the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 pad (left) (12).
(b) Remove the screw (14) that attaches the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 removable support (5).
(c) Remove the three screws (15) that attach the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(d) Remove the three screws (16) that attach the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 outer fitting (9).
(e) Remove the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) from the engine.
(3) Removal of the strut 1 pad (right) (3):
(a) Remove the four screws (18) that attach the strut 1 pad (right) (3) to the junction-shroud fitting (right) (17).
(b) Remove the two bolts (20) that attach the strut 1 pad (right) (3) to the fan frame hub (19).
(4) Removal of the strut 1 pad (left) (12):
(a) Remove the four screws (25) that attach the strut 1 pad (left) (12) to the junction-shroud fitting (left) (24).
(b) Remove the two bolts (26) that attach the strut 1 pad (left) (12) to the fan frame hub (19).
(5) Removal of the strut 1 removable support (5):
(a) Remove the two nuts (30) and the two bolts (31) that attach the strut 1 removable support (5) to the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(b) Remove the strut 1 removable support (5) from the engine.
(6) Removal of the strut 1 pad (right) (3) and the strut 1 pad (left) (12):
(a) Remove the nut (32) and the bolt (33) that attach the strut 1 pad (right) (3) and the strut 1 pad (left) (12).
(b) Remove the strut 1 pad (right) (3) from the engine.
(c) Remove the strut 1 pad (left) (12) from the engine.
(7) Removal of the extrados strut 1 seal (21):
(a) Remove the five screws (22) and the five nuts (23) from the strut pad (right) (3).
(b) Remove the extrados strut 1 seal (21) from the strut pad (right) (3) pulling carefully the three seal pins.
(8) Removal of the intrados strut 1 seal (27):
(a) Remove the five screws (28) and the five nuts (29) from the strut pad (left) (12).
(b) Remove the intrados strut 1 seal (27) from the strut pad (left) (12) pulling carefully the three seal pins.
(9) Removal of the Strut 1 outer fitting (9):
(a) Remove the two bolts (34) and the two flat washers (35) from the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(b) Remove the two bolts (36) from the engine.
(c) Remove the two bolts (37) and the two adjusting fitting shims (38) from the engine.
(d) Remove the strut 1 outer fitting (9) from the engine.
(1) Removal of the strut 1 fairing (right) (2):
(a) Remove the four screws (4) that attach the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 pad (right) (3).
(b) Remove the screw (6) that attaches the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 removable support (5).
(c) Remove the three screws (8) that attach the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(d) Remove the three screws (10) that attach the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) to the strut 1 outer fitting (9).
(e) Remove the strut 1 fairing (right) (2) from the engine.
(2) Removal of the strut 1 fairing (left) (11):
(a) Remove the four screws (13) that attach the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 pad (left) (12).
(b) Remove the screw (14) that attaches the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 removable support (5).
(c) Remove the three screws (15) that attach the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(d) Remove the three screws (16) that attach the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) to the strut 1 outer fitting (9).
(e) Remove the strut 1 fairing (left) (11) from the engine.
(3) Removal of the strut 1 pad (right) (3):
(a) Remove the four screws (18) that attach the strut 1 pad (right) (3) to the junction-shroud fitting (right) (17).
(b) Remove the two bolts (20) that attach the strut 1 pad (right) (3) to the fan frame hub (19).
(4) Removal of the strut 1 pad (left) (12):
(a) Remove the four screws (25) that attach the strut 1 pad (left) (12) to the junction-shroud fitting (left) (24).
(b) Remove the two bolts (26) that attach the strut 1 pad (left) (12) to the fan frame hub (19).
(5) Removal of the strut 1 removable support (5):
(a) Remove the two nuts (30) and the two bolts (31) that attach the strut 1 removable support (5) to the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(b) Remove the strut 1 removable support (5) from the engine.
(6) Removal of the strut 1 pad (right) (3) and the strut 1 pad (left) (12):
(a) Remove the nut (32) and the bolt (33) that attach the strut 1 pad (right) (3) and the strut 1 pad (left) (12).
(b) Remove the strut 1 pad (right) (3) from the engine.
(c) Remove the strut 1 pad (left) (12) from the engine.
(7) Removal of the extrados strut 1 seal (21):
(a) Remove the five screws (22) and the five nuts (23) from the strut pad (right) (3).
(b) Remove the extrados strut 1 seal (21) from the strut pad (right) (3) pulling carefully the three seal pins.
(8) Removal of the intrados strut 1 seal (27):
(a) Remove the five screws (28) and the five nuts (29) from the strut pad (left) (12).
(b) Remove the intrados strut 1 seal (27) from the strut pad (left) (12) pulling carefully the three seal pins.
(9) Removal of the Strut 1 outer fitting (9):
(a) Remove the two bolts (34) and the two flat washers (35) from the strut 1 fairing support (7).
(b) Remove the two bolts (36) from the engine.
(c) Remove the two bolts (37) and the two adjusting fitting shims (38) from the engine.
(d) Remove the strut 1 outer fitting (9) from the engine.
