A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-24-03-010-077-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 72-24-03-010-078-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access

C. Cleaning
(1) If necessary, clean the part with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moistened with acetone (Material No.CP1039) or methyl ethyl ketone (Material No.CP1040) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .

D. Inspection of the Part to be Repaired
(1) Measure the total surface of the areas repaired before.
(a) Make sure that after the repair, SURFACES G and N or F and M will still be in the limits, go to Paragraph 4.A. "Dimensional Information".
(2) If you need to blend, go to Paragraph 4.E. "Blending".
(3) If you need to do the spot touch-up, go to Paragraph 4.G. "Spot touch-up".
Subtask 72-24-03-350-054-A (1) Measure the total surface of the areas repaired before.
(a) Make sure that after the repair, SURFACES G and N or F and M will still be in the limits, go to Paragraph 4.A. "Dimensional Information".
(2) If you need to blend, go to Paragraph 4.E. "Blending".
(3) If you need to do the spot touch-up, go to Paragraph 4.G. "Spot touch-up".
WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. METAL PARTICLES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE, INJURY OR IRRITATION.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BLENDED AREAS MAKE A SMOOTH CONTOUR INTO THE ADJACENT AREAS. IF NOT, DAMAGE TO THE PART CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
DO THE TOUCH-UP OF THE OXIDE FILM COATING MAXIMUM 4 HOURS AFTER THE BLENDING PROCEDURE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE PART CAN OCCUR.
E. Blending of the Areas to be Repaired NOTE: Remove a minimum of material more than the depth of deviation while blending.

Strut 1 Outer Fitting and Fairings - Blending Limits and Painting Overspray WARNING:
WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR:
(2) Blow the blended surfaces with AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY and de-oiled. - USE THE CORRECT PROTECTION (FACE SHIELD OR GOGGLES)
- DO NOT POINT THE AIRFLOW AT YOURSELF OR OTHER PERSONS
- DO NOT LET THE PRESSURE BE MORE THAN 30 PSI (207 KPA).
(3) Do a Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI). Go to Para 4.F. "FPI of the Blended Areas".
F. FPI of the Blended Areas
(1) Clean with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moistened with acetone (Material No.CP1039) or methyl ethyl ketone (Material No.CP1040) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
(2) Swab etch with S1096- aluminum alloys etchantSPM 705311 .
(3) Do a FPISPM 703211 or SPM 703212 or SPM 703221 or SPM 703222 . No cracks are permitted.
(4) Do the spot touch-up on aluminum alloy parts. Go to Para 4.G. "Spot Touch-up of the Area to be Repaired on Aluminum Alloy Parts".
Subtask 72-24-03-380-050-A (1) Clean with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moistened with acetone (Material No.CP1039) or methyl ethyl ketone (Material No.CP1040) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
(2) Swab etch with S1096- aluminum alloys etchant
(3) Do a FPI
(4) Do the spot touch-up on aluminum alloy parts. Go to Para 4.G. "Spot Touch-up of the Area to be Repaired on Aluminum Alloy Parts".
G. Spot Touch-up of the Area to be Repaired on Aluminum Alloy Parts
(1) If necessary, clean the part with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moistened in acetone (Material No.CP1039) or methyl ethyl ketone (Material No.CP1040) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
(2) Brush the areas to be repaired locally with strips of CS 333 X (Material No.CP2721) , grade 400 minimumSPM 704111 .
(a) (b) Make sure that SURFACES M or N are in the limits, go to Para 4.A. "Dimensional Information".
(3) Blow the repaired surfaces:
(4) Clean the part with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moistened in acetone (Material No.CP1039) or methyl ethyl ketone (Material No.CP1040) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
(5) Do the spot touch-up as followsSPM 706214 :
(a) If the surface to be repaired is less than or equal to 2 cm2 (0.31 in.2):
1 Do the spot touch-up of the sulfuric anodizing and check the protective coatingSPM 706214 .
(b) If the surface to be repaired is more than 2 cm2 (0.31 in.2):
1 Do the spot touch-up of the sulfuric anodizing and check the protective coatingSPM 706214 .
2 Apply and cure S1208-BOLLORE FUN-NG (green color) paint with overspray on adjacent areas in repeated thin coatsSPM 706423 .
c d e Make sure that the part remains at a temperature between 65 deg.C (149 deg.F) and 75 deg.C (167 deg.F) during the curing.

1 Do the spot touch-up of the sulfuric anodizing and check the protective coating
(b) If the surface to be repaired is more than 2 cm2 (0.31 in.2):
1 Do the spot touch-up of the sulfuric anodizing and check the protective coating
2 Apply and cure S1208-BOLLORE FUN-NG (green color) paint with overspray on adjacent areas in repeated thin coats
NOTE: You must respect the following conditions:
a b Make sure that SURFACES M or N are in the limits. Go to Para 4.A. "Dimensional Information". - Temperature between 15 deg.C (59 deg.F) and 25 deg.C (77 deg.F)
- Humidity between 40% and 70%.
c d e Make sure that the part remains at a temperature between 65 deg.C (149 deg.F) and 75 deg.C (167 deg.F) during the curing.
NOTE: It is permitted to use an infrared system with feedback control for curing.
